Cliffhanger Alert!

I was getting so into the story and part 1 ended! So many questions left unanswered! great story and the narrator did a good job with the male accent.

Reminded Me of How Much I Miss Ednah's Work

What an excellent tale of mystery, fantasy and the unknown. I'm a huge fan of pirates, and this reminds me so much of a cross between Black Sails and Vikings. Of course she's written a bit about Norse mythology and Vikings, so adding a pirate tale to the plate was welcoming.

Lexi's character is one we can all relate too. All families are dysfunctional to some extent, but she is loyal to her brother and will do whatever it takes to take care of him. Her step-mother just happens to also be included in that equation. Lexi's life if fairing well, as she's taken on a role as a nanny for a wealthy guy and the vacation she's longing for takes a wrong turn when she hears a guy attempt to jump from a window. Enter Storm :)

There were a lot of aha moments and some predictable, but nevertheless, this first installment of the series was pure perfection.

Not only does Walters writing create a unique world with amazing characters, the narration was no doubt the driving factor for my review. Erin Mallon did such a great job and I'm sure the author would have been proud to know that she gave her characters a voice we can appreciate and fall in love with. The direction she went with Storm, who's accent is not one dialect was super sexy. Thanks Erin for giving this series life and giving Ednah Walters fans something to remember her by.

Pretty good overall

However, the narrator wasn't the best. All her men's voices were the same but her women's voices were a tad better but not by much. So, the book had some strong chemistry between the H/h and some action but the only thing I didn't like was the kidnapping or "harvesting" as the Islanders called it, of the young women then justifying it as the way it has to be!? Seriously?? I understand it's just a book but it bothers me that the families of these young women will never know what happened to them nor have a closure! The girls then forgive and fall in love with their kidnappers?!? Except one girl ends up committing suicide because she just wants to go back to her family. It's so sad. If you can get past the illegal and neanderthal way the men do things you might enjoy this book.

Just couldn’t stand it.

Since when do women loose all their self worth when sexy abs arrive, the amount of eye rolling was too exhausting. All the “you’re my mate so I’m kidnapping you” boss bs is okay as long as he’s a sexy pirate right!? Right? No thank you.
