Publisher's summary

With the current financial crisis, high unemployment, and tight credit, you may be saying to yourself: "Who is acting rich these days? We're barely making ends meet." The reality is that the recession may have caused us to take a breather, but every indication is that we will pick up right where we left off when gentler economic winds blow again. Before you spend another dime, listen to this audiobook and understand how to become rich instead of acting rich.

It all starts with where you live. Live in a prestige neighborhood and you will spend more on everything from your car to your watch. Real millionaires understand that living in communities where their neighbors have less net worth than they do naturally leads to spending less. It's easier to be rich when keeping up with the Joneses hardly costs anything. Life satisfaction comes not from cruising down the highway in a chunk of your net worth, but from having the financial resources to choose - to spend time with family and friends, to volunteer, to pursue interests.

Best-selling author of The Millionaire Next Door and The Millionaire Mind and leading authority on the wealthy, Dr. Thomas Stanley uncovers the truth that few people become rich by way of a high income, and even fewer high-income people are truly rich. The good news is that almost anyone can become wealthy - even without a super high income. Just stop acting...and instead start living like a rich person.

Great info on reality!

This is not an exciting book but one full of truth that can help adults and children.

Good info, similar to his other books

The book was interesting like all of Stanley's books. It did seem fairly similar to the previous with slight tweaks...it shows that real millionaires don't change that much. Slow and steady wins the race :)

Incredible Book

I couldn’t say I agree 100 percent with every point because it doesn’t factor people of a different skin tone as much, but it is a great and factual book nonetheless.

Awesome book! Very enjoyable for a financial minded person.

I had great enjoyment while listening to this book. It really drives home the point to stop acting like rich people and try to become rich yourself instead. 😊

Should be ×2 shorter

Not bad, but 2 hours would be enough to tell all the story. Too much houses, watches and liquors. Not very deep. Some points were nice and exact 🌟👍

This book keeps me focused...

on the things that matter most. Sometimes, I relapse with my spending. Fortunately it's only a mental relapse. When I think about all of the trappings of wealth and what I could and potentially buy, this book sets me straight and gets me back on track. The is my favorite book in the millionaire series of books.

Good points but to many technical specific details

Good points but to many technical specific details. It gets a little boring when author describes excel charts and list every line. But general assumptions and ideas risen by this book are totally worth reading.
