Story
In Beatrice Prior's dystopian Chicago, society is divided into five factions, each dedicated to the cultivation of a particular virtue - Candor (the honest), Abnegation (the selfless), Dauntless (the brave), Amity (the peaceful), and Erudite (the intelligent). On an appointed day of every year, all sixteen-year-olds must select the faction to which they will devote the rest of their lives. For Beatrice, the decision is between staying with her family and being who she really is - she can't have both. So she makes a choice that surprises everyone, including herself.

Then Bernadette disappears. It began when Bee aced her report card and claimed her promised reward: a family trip to Antarctica. But Bernadette's intensifying allergy to Seattle - and people in general - has made her so agoraphobic that a virtual assistant in India now runs her most basic errands.

Loved listening to this with my kids!
Would you consider the audio edition of Stolen Luck to be better than the print version?
I enjoyed the audiobook even more than the print version, which I also have.
What other book might you compare Stolen Luck to and why?
I can't think of a single book that is like this one. The only thing I can think to compare it to is the movie "The Luck of the Irish" but Stolen Luck was much cuter and more interesting!
What about Amy Hilburn’s performance did you like?
The narrator was full of life and energy. We really enjoyed her performance and characterizations! She gave the main character a very unique and youthful voice.
Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?
It was hard to get my 9 year old daughter to stop listening to this. We didn't listen to it fast enough for her, so she stole it and finished it by herself!

great book!
I listened to this book with my twelve year old daughter. she loves fantasy/adventure books. we usually listen to or read a book together in the evening before bed. she never wanted to turn it off! One Saturday morning she asked to listen to it when we got up and we finished it that way. The narrator really brought the story to life. It was engaging and I think what I loved most was the respectful tone between parents and children. there was also genuine love. and care between siblings and friends.

fun and engaging start to the series
Would you listen to Stolen Luck again? Why?
Absolutely! The narrator was fun and engaging, and the story quick-paced and fun.
Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?
Yes. There's a podcast I listen to daily for career development, and I found myself wanting to ignore it in favor of Stolen Luck!
Any additional comments?
I read this book when it was first released, but this version has been updated and expanded. While I enjoyed the story the first time, I LOVED it this time. Megan is spunky without being sassy, and kind without allowing others to walk all over her. She handles her various mishaps with a grace and positive attitude that made me love her even more.
As a parent, one of the things I love about this book is that both Megan and Jared have parents that are involved and concerned. The book does what so many YA books fail to do--models a healthy and realistic home life.
The mythological aspects of this story made it that much more fun. Louie is so evil, but it makes for a hilarious story. I listened to the story, and the narrator did an excellent job and made the story that much more fun. I can't wait to listen to the rest of the series when it comes out on audio!
I received a free audio copy of this book in exchange for my honest review. This in no way influenced my review.

Any additional comments?
Cute, humorous and fun story. Interesting concept. Good family friendly story.
You can listen to this story with the whole family and not have to worry about inappropriate content. Perfect for a road trip with the kids.
What would you do if you made a leprechaun mad and he stole your luck. What if he had plans to steal the luck from your whole family.
Meghan never gives up, she may have moments of doubt but she keeps going. With the help of her friends she is determined to find a way to fix the problem.
Putting a GPS on a leprechaun, cute
Amy Hillburn did a good job with the narration. She narrates the story with excitement and enthusiasm. The narration was a bit to fast at times, but it fit with the story. She sounded too young and squeaky for me. The MC is suppose to be 16 in the story she sounds like she's 12. I did get used to her voice over the coarse of the story, just not my favorite.

Knock knock, who's there
I have to give this one 3.75 overall. It did take me a little while to get through this story, but am I glad I eventually did. I think I originally expected something entirely differet than I got. I found the story to be witty and extremely hilarious. There is a knock at the door and from then on there was fun loving humor mixed with a little teenage drama. Reading about the main character and her terrible luck brought my own luck into perspective. The majority of the characters I found to be really likable. I thought the bond between the main character and her best friend to be refreshing and on point with teenage girls. I also really liked the little twins and all the mischief they caused. I kept picturing my younger sister when we were younger, but imagine there being double, yikes! Although I do enjoy and read many YA stories this one was refreshing because for the most part and the majority of the story it was clean. Something that was entirely different was the positive and influential relationship that the parents had with the children throughout the story. I found myself relating my life back to the main character when I bumped my head or went to the fridge and found no milk left lol. I thought the narration was a little fast paced at first. However when I began relating it to the characters I found it to be more and more realistic as the story went on. The sassiness and tone that the narrator gives to our teenage and younger characters is well balanced with the older parents. It really brought the story to life, as good narration always does. This one had something that made it into something special. It also had some cheese that added to that enjoyable factor. Great job to the author and narrator. I received a free copy of this audiobook from the narrator, author or pubshler in exchange for an honest review via of Audiobook Boom.

Cute Story
Cute but Quick story!! I couldn't tell the characters apart sometimes & the narrator sounded like she was a really REALLY young girl! there were a few things that drove me crazy....but all those were just personal preference on stuff! The way certain words were pronounced or the pitchy sounds! All that is my personal preference!

A fun and different story
The book was a fun listen. Five hours and 48 minutes flew by on this road trip. The first two chapters were background information but after that the story was great. The story really moved along after that. Leprechauns stealing your luck was a different take. The characters were interesting. The narration was good, but for some reason this was not my favorite narrator. The sequels might be interesting too.
