Story
The ancient Toltecs believed that life, as we perceive it, is a dream. We each live in our own personal dream, and these come together to form the dream of the planet, or the world in which we live. Problems arise when our perception of the dream becomes clouded with negativity, drama, and judgment (of ourselves and others), because it's in these moments of suffering that we have forgotten that we are the architects of our own reality and we have the power to change our dream if we choose.

Story
The history of the tablets translated in the following book is strange and beyond the belief of modern scientists. Their antiquity is stupendous, dating back some 36,000 years. The writer is Thoth, an Atlantean Priest-King, who founded a colony in ancient Egypt after the sinking of the mother country. He was the builder of the Great Pyramid of Giza, erroneously attributed to Cheops. In it he incorporated his knowledge of the ancient wisdom and also securely secreted records and instruments of ancient Atlantis.

On the face of it, a simple book of 26 poem fables sharing one man’s wisdom. But The Prophet is so much more than that. It has inspired people from John F Kennedy to The Beatles and became the '60s Bible of counterculture – all because of the timeless truths it shared. Each poem takes a different theme – pleasure, beauty, freedom, joy and sorrow – as the fictional Al Mustapha shares his thoughts and experiences as he prepares to travel back to his island home.

5 stars
I read this book every day, fifteen minutes a day until I got to the end and can confirm that there is life changing information within. I think the author sounds like the typical upper middle class fool seeking enlightenment in trivial sacrifices, but if you ignore his journey and focus on the lessons of Seneca, Marcus, and the likes you can change your paradigm appreciate the life you've been given.

like it very much
Very insightful book. If you are into the stoics and Tao or Zen. This book is helpful to learn how to implement a stoic lifestyle. You still need to get Epictetus Discourse and Handbook and some Seneca, Marcus, and maybe Mustonius. Do your homework and this book will help. It is not really needed to follow the path, but I still enjoyed the author perspective. It will definitely help beginners on the Way. I recommended this book to my students

God Damn, This is a Good Book!
God Damn, This is a Good Book!! Yes!!! This is the book that should be in the classics section and NOT the stoicism book that you often see. The first two chapters can be skipped unless you are interested in the entire history of the Stoic Philosophy, but I found it mildly interesting since it does talk about the similarities to Buddhism and Christianity, but this books was just excellent and I use the information I learned in this book almost every day - at least 3 times per week. Just great!
