Publisher's summary

With the ferocity of a tigress, Kate Williams desperately fights a kidnapper trying to snatch her adopted son from her arms. When rancher Dallas O'Brien sees the skirmish, he bravely saves the infant and his lovely mother. Single and new in town, Kate accepts the handsome cowboy's offer of a safe haven at his ranch.

Spurred on by their Texas-sized attraction, Dallas and Kate untangle a web of lies that throws the baby's paternity into question. And Dallas wonders - could he be a father? Could he be a husband? But when bullets start flying, the real question is, will he survive to find out?

Great story, I loved it.

Kate left an unhappy life and adopted a child. She was strong and determined to succeed. Dallas helped scare off the kidnapper and became protective of her. I loved his family and all their support. Narration by Rebecca Mitchell was very well done and brought the story to life.

Love this series!

I've read this series already. I already own it on ebook and in print, but now I got the chance to listen to the audio. The author did a phenomenal job writing the story. It's the perfect balance between excitement, mystery and romance. I like the characters, they're very relatable and the story kept a nice pace throughout the story. It didn't seem to lag or drag on at any time. I do wish the ending had been a bit more exciting, as the car chase scene was more exciting than the ending, but I like the ending anyway. The narrator did a pretty good job. I think she could have been a bit more excited in some places and when the characters whispered she could have simulated whispering instead of just speaking normally, but other than that she did a good job. Well done to both. I'm off to read... listen to the next story.

Really?

The narrator sounded like a female William Shatner ala the original Star Trek the odd stops and starts. And is it just me or did Kate actually not ask if her brother was rescued from the kidnappers. The reveal and kidnapping rescue was revealed and resolved in the last 15 minutes of the book. Rush much?
