Outstanding book! A must for suspense lovers...
This is an excellent book. The suspense is palpable and the build up is superb. This story is so realistic and so believable and so frustrating! My heart goes out to this woman even knowing that she is only a figment of the author's imagination.
Here she is happily going about her life not knowing that her husband is a serial killer. When the truth comes out accidentally she is called his helper and put on trial as an accomplice. She is acquitted but it doesn't matter to the townspeople or the internet stalkers, all those who believe she truly is guilty.
She changes her name, learns how to handle a gun and begins moving from place to place trying to stay anonymous. Somehow she keeps being tracked down and her ex husband continues to send her letters from behind bars.
When first one then a second body turns up at the lake she is living on, she once again finds herself the center of attention and a suspect in the murders.
This is an author I will definitely watch for new books.
Emily Sutton-Smith does a fabulous job narrating.
This book has my HIGHEST RECOMMENDATION!

If you could sum up Stillhouse Lake in three words, what would they be?
Brilliant, shocking, believable
What was one of the most memorable moments of Stillhouse Lake?
A mom's love for children. Her perseverance.

Finding her children and putting all the pieces together.

I laughed very little. Brought to tears several times.

Got this book as a Prime member First Reads offer in June 2017. Purchased audible narration and waited until July 1st to read.
Highly recommend this book.

Engaging and Unexpectedly Good!
Ooooh! Don't miss this one. It is a very good story with superior narration and offers the best kind of mystery, twists and turns, deception, and grand finish. I like everything about this book -- even though I wasn't expecting it to be such a standout. Can't give clues or would tarnish the listening experience!

Story and performance good audio quality less than desired
Good Story line and a suspenseful twists and turns.
The problem I had was with the audio. The audio would drop a word or part of a word often. You can still follow the story it was just annoying

Great suspense story!
I love mysteries and stories of suspense. I picked this title up when it was on sale and just decided to listen one day. The story grabbed me from the start and I had a hard time turning it off. The point of view of this story, the ex-wife of a serial killer, was very unique and the twists and turns held my attention and kept me guessing. I cannot wait to read the next story in the series.
