Publisher's summary

From the New York Times best-selling author of The Giver of Stars, discover the love story that captured over 20 million hearts in Me Before You, After You, and Still Me.

Louisa Clark arrives in New York ready to start a new life, confident that she can embrace this new adventure and keep her relationship with Ambulance Sam alive across several thousand miles. She steps into the world of the superrich, working for Leonard Gopnik and his much younger second wife, Agnes. Lou is determined to get the most out of the experience and throws herself into her new job and New York life. As she begins to mix in New York high society, Lou meets Joshua Ryan, a man who brings with him a whisper of her past.

Before long, Lou finds herself torn between Fifth Avenue where she works and the treasure-filled vintage clothing store where she actually feels at home. And when matters come to a head, she has to ask herself: Who is Louisa Clark? And how do you find the courage to follow your heart - wherever that may lead? Funny, romantic, and poignant, Still Me follows Lou as she discovers who she is and who she was always meant to be - and learns to live boldly in her brave new world.

Still Me Narrator Ruined it for me

This is my third Jojo Moyes audiobook. I love the character Louisa, both for the way she is written and the way the narrator voices her. Unfortunately, Still Me is almost ruined by the narrator's other performances..

This book mixes people from London, New York, Krakow, and other cities. The narrator, Anna Acton, did a good job with all the accents except for the New York/US accents, especially the males. The way she portrayed them was grating, cringeworthy.

In other cases when I have been bothered by the narrator, I just hung in, eventually getting past it. As much as I like Jojo Moyes and the story, there was no hanging-in this time.

Sorry I wasted over 13 hours of my time!!!

I loved the first book, but never listened to the second, mainly because the reviews were mostly negative, so when I saw all the great 5 star reviews here for book 3, I really expected it to be another tear-jerker. Boy, was I wrong!!! The story never actually went anywhere, and the narration was average at best! The New York accents, especially those of the male characters, were difficult to stand. What happened this time??? How could the first book be so wonderful, causing the listener both to laugh and cry, only to find that the follow-ups are not worth the time or credit? Do yourself a favor, and look for something else.wa

better than 2, not quite as good as 1

What did you love best about Still Me?

i had much anticipation for this book having loved the first one so much. I love the character of Louisa Clarke and i love Moyes' writing style. She weaves in surprises in what could become so predictable and makes her characters and their context come alive. I've loved watching Lou grow into her own.

What was one of the most memorable moments of Still Me?

when Lou refuses the offer from her former employer-

Which character – as performed by Anna Acton – was your favorite?

Oddly i think Margo Dewitt because of the voice change- it seemed difficult and yet was very believable.

If you could rename Still Me, what would you call it?

The title is perfect as is.

Narration lacking

How could the performance have been better?

The only reason I finished listening was because I love Louisa and her story. The narrator's American accent was horrendous, regionally incorrect and painful to listen to.

A MUST READ

LOVE!!! I am a fan of JoJo and this has been a favorite story line of mine! This story has been so inspirational to me, and makes you think deeply about current issues. I have been challenged in my personal views on life and it's incredibly refreshing to be given a different point of view not feel like you are being bullied into changing your view points.

Read all 3. This was my favorite

I have ended up reading all 3 in this series when I was desperate for something to read. Something not too heavy (or situations are dealt with in a way that doesn't want to make me want to open a vein), with a main character I can root for, interesting secondary characters who are fleshed out, complicated life situation...

I'm always surprised that I enjoy Moyes' novels. But I guess I should quit being surprised and make her a go-to author when I'm in the mood for this type of book.

Audio narrator was quite good. Only a few slips in American pronunciation: anything and penniless. She voiced each character distinctly.

A correction from my First Review

My first review was that I couldn’t get past the 11th chapter and quit. It is a slow start and not exciting at all.
I went back to it since I was in a place that I could give it 100% attention.
There were still many many parts of the book that just wasn’t that great.
I hung in there and it started to get better.
Lou going back to England for Christmas was eye opening. I also love the way this author made her Mum so so funny.
Her relationship with Sam. Good writing there.
Then the SURPRISE from her NY employers. See, it really got better.
The rest of the book was good.
Glad I gave it another try.

Jojo has run out of steam on this character

This is a beach read at best. You could not have made sense of this book had you not read her previous books on this character -- but to be fair, I would not have picked it up if I did not have some history. The book seemed to drag and I was doing well to finish it. I hope this was the conclusion for this character. Too many mini-plots going different ways -- Loved Mrs. Dewitt and Dean Martin -- a high spot in the book.

I absolutely loved it.

After reading after you, I wasn’t so sure that I would like this book. Meet before you was amazing, but the second book was a little less somehow. I can’t really describe it. However, the pieces of books one and book 2 finally came together in book 3. I honestly loved it. I’m glad I took a chance on the third book.
