Publisher's summary

She is the one. I knew it then, and I know it now.

It has been 10 years since I first laid eyes on her, 10 years since I’ve held her, 10 years since I’ve been inside of her...and 10 years since I broke her heart.

Now she’s back. And when I look into the eyes of my first and only love, I know she is the one for me. She is still the most beautiful woman, and she can still make my body come alive with just a glance. If I feel this way, she must, too...right? Wrong.

According to her, the past is the past. Her life doesn’t consist of second chances, just the here and now. But guess what? I’m here, and it’s now. We aren’t meant to be apart - that was my mistake, and I will do whatever it takes to make her mine again.

She forgets I know what makes her blush. She forgets I know how to make her laugh and how to give her immense pleasure - but I am determined to remind her.

And once I do, I will never let her go again.

Second chance Love

The narrators made Jack and April come to life. I just swooned for Jack. He never gave up on his love. This narrative was so visual like I could actually see Jack. My expectations were delivered, thank you ❤️.

Stiffed

Jack's so excited that the new neighbors are moving in hoping for a little boy to play with. But then he meets April it doesn't even matter she's not a boy. He knows even then that she is the one. The story follows them through falling in love and high school where her family moves and he breaks her heat. Fast forward....They are both grown and she refuses to let him back in. They both do things that they do that will so annoy you, but overall the story is a good one. The narration by Aaron Shedlock and Mackenzie Cartwright is just spot on and really adds to the story.

Loved the narration!

I really enjoyed this story! Jack and April are everything you'd want in a couple! The narrators, Aaron Shedlock and Mackenzie Cartwright were amazing! Shedlock has a good strong, deep voice that fit Jack perfectly. I'd never heard Miss Cartwright before but I really enjoyed the emotion she added to the story!

good story

I picked this one because of two of my favorite readers. The story was good and the narrators made it even better. The story was not I expected in second chance romance but good nevertheless. This author was new to me and I will look more from her. Worth the credit? For Aaron, hack yeah!

4.5 Second Chance Stars!

I loved this beautiful story of friendship, love, and redemption! It is a sweet and emotional second chance romance that captured my heart from the very beginning! Jack and April have been best friends since they were kids. That close bond turned into a love that would never die. Unfortunate circumstances tore them apart and Jack didn't handle it well, breaking both their hearts. Now years later, Jack has his second chance to make things right, to prove to April he will never hurt her again, and he won't let anything stand in his way. I loved watching them rediscover each other again, it wasn't easy for them, but so worth the journey. It is told in past and present sequence, revealing the depth of their connection and who they are, which I loved. Jack is so swoony, as well as all his brothers, I can't wait for Josh's story! Ms. Schwehm's writing is so beautiful, and moving, and her characters are genuine and easy to relate to. That was due in large part to the narrator's, Aaron Shedlock, and Mackenzie Cartwright. They expertly brought these characters to life, immersing me in their world. I was lost to their story telling, laughing, gasping, and sighing from beginning to end. I loved this second chance love story of hope, and forgiveness.

Jack & April!

Just when I needed a great, easy and entertaining listen, this book fell into my lap. Jack and April met at the age of 7, and even then the sparks flew. Growing up as best friends to a couple was the natural progression. But when Jack broke things off to go to college, life for both of them changed. Now years later, they meet up again. Is it by chance? Maybe. Is there still a flame? Could be. But will April let herself back into the fire? This is a great second chance love story. It's not only about the two of them, but the family dynamic of both April and Jack. We get a glimpse of the Prescott men and their women as they are with Jack, but it's even more fun when they get to see April for the first time in years. April's dad plays a small part in the story as well. The best relationship though is that of April and her best friend Alan. Their bond is one that will not be broken, but will their secret be the thing to keep Jack from April? Schwehm writes with passion and care. She hits on a subject that is important and brings it to the forefront with pertinent information and in a way that is realistic. I loved getting to know Jack and April!

Narration for this book by Aaron Shedlock and MacKenzie Cartwright is spot on. Shedlock has a voice able to portray any character, and for Jack, he gives him just enough punch to make him the strong, confident man he is. I love his way of changing up the boardroom to the bedroom, and even showing vulnerability just with inflections of his voice. Cartwright shows us April with her past hurts, concerns for the future and uncertainties. Her voice gives us all of that plus the underlying love she has for Jack. It's wonderful to be able to feel the character's emotional pull through the performer and these two bring it on.

America's favorite family, The Prescott s, have returned with the story of Jack!

It was worth the wait for one of the most amazing members of the Prescott family. The story of Jack and April began over 20 years ago. They were the couple "most meant to be" until April 's family had to move across country. Now circumstances have brought April back. Jack has decided that he is not going to waste another moment. He is going to win April back. This second chance story is second to none.

I liked the flow of this audible. Storyline was interesting. Jack and April meet when they were children. Without being sappy the story brings you up to today. Action, mystery, love and laughter. And yes a HEA! Well worth a credit!

oh Jack! 💜💜💜

Jack & April: trigger: sexual harassment & sexual assault. plenty surprised by this book. this is a slow burn but since it's a second chance romance it's kind of understandable. I really enjoyed getting to know Jack and April past and present. the author really details just how much they grew and changed. I wasn't too find of April at first and I thought her secret was less than appealing. I was hoping for something more explosive as her reason for holding Jack at bay not it's whatever. jack is just the type of man everyone wants... sexy, committed and successful. he knew she was his and did not stop fighting for her. loved it. great book.
