Story
The drama of the life of the second president of the United States has been stirringly chronicled both in print and on television. Yet, the life of John Adams is so rich in history, emotion, power, and tragedy that no medium can entirely contain its essence. Hearing the story of his life is to be introduced to a nation, new and untried, that would rise to prominence in no small part due to his legacy of leadership.

Story
In this magnificent biography, the Pulitzer Prize-winning author of American Lion and Franklin and Winston brings vividly to life an extraordinary man and his remarkable times. Thomas Jefferson: The Art of Power gives us Jefferson the politician and president, a great and complex human being forever engaged in the wars of his era. Philosophers think; politicians maneuver. Jefferson’s genius was that he was both and could do both, often simultaneously. Such is the art of power.

Publisher's Summary
From Washington's Virginia childhood, through his days as a soldier and general, to his inauguration as the first president of the brand-new United States, and into retirement, this biography captures the full breadth and achievements of his life. It covers both the personal and the private, reveals his views on everything from governmental power to the abolition of slavery, and separates fascinating truth from well-worn legend - including that infamous, but false, tale about chopping down the cherry tree.

Review from a 61/2 year old boy
Where does Sterling Biographies rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?
This was my favorite book after The Sword in the Stone by TH White, read by Neville Jason.
Who was your favorite character and why?
George Washington, because he was a hero in the American Revolution
What about Roscoe Orman’s performance did you like?
He talked just right so I could understand him.
Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?
Yes, I listened to it twice, but the second time I didn't listen to it all at once.
Any additional comments?
It was very good. I am looking for more Sterling Biographies to listen to now.
