Guilty Pleasure Read!

I only grabbed book 1 to check this serial out before I spent a TON of money on the rest because I normally do not like serials. They always feel like a bunch of pieces instead separate books to me and that is why I only gave this book 3 stars. It was a fun sexy read but it was just a tiny piece and because of that, this part alone felt like nothing really happened in the story. I like a STORY with all the sex and just from listening to this one I think this whole serial will have a great story but I won't even know that until I finish the entire thing. Because of that I now have all the rest of these "pieces" so I can find out if that is true. I won't start the next one until I know I have the time to binge on the entire thing so hopefully it won't feel like it is lacking the way this one did. I have high hopes for the story as a whole.

The narration was great! Both narrators fit the characters perfectly.

It never got interesting

One hour and forty seven minutes. Most of which is her loud boring thinking to herself. If book two is as bad I'm getting my money back for both ! LoL

didn't realize that each book was so short

the books get dragged out in small series. should have been more then four chapters one book should have easily been the whole week but oh well I'm hooked in onto the next one. hoping it's longer but won't hold my breath

A Taboo, Short, and Steamy Read!!

This novella is about Ashley, a smart, nerdy, and shy girl who's always been a good girl; and Ethan, a cocky, bad boy quarterback with a rich daddy and a bright football career.

These two have known each other since 2nd grade and became stepsiblings when they were in their teens.
This book starts off with a bang - wink wink - then we go back 4 days and it's the start of summer break and they're about to be home for the summer. And they're alone since their respective parents are vacationing for the week. And let's just say, they make the most of it.

This audiobook was super fun, spicy, and short, it's in dual 1st person pov, and ends on a cliffhanger.
In this book we get stepbrother, some taboo and forbidden aspects, friends-with-benefits, bad boy/good girl, summer fling, push and pull, drama, loads of hot tension, and slight angst.

Stepbrother With Benefits is the 1st installment in the Stepbrother With Benefits series, which will follow along with Ashley and Ethan's story, therefore these books cannot be read as standalones. I'd never read from this author before, but I sure will now. 100% recommend!!

Step Brother with Benefits

This book is the setup to the rest of the series. It starts at the end after the parents return but then goes back to the beginning to show us how things start. Ashley and Ethan start off as enemies since he has teased her since they were kids. Returning home for break, their parents are away and they decide to start a short term fling while their parents are away. This is super steamy with a taboo element but there isn't much plot. Its more of a prequel than a full blown book, hoping the next in series offers more.

Taboo read/Listen Part 1

Both narrators are good and keep your attention while playing their parts well.
Ashley your typical good girl finds herself craving her bad boy stepbrother Ethan. The feeling is entirely mutual. So... What else are they meant to do while their parents are away? If you want a quick, easy to listen to steamy book(Episode) then this is for you.

Ashley and Ethan book 1

Ashley and Ethan, step siblings left alone for one week, decide to embark on an indecent tryst. One they enjoy far too much!! This is book one of a long series so I have to mention a few things both story and audio related.

As an audio, and first in the series, I found the female narrator slightly grating and trying too hard to act out her part. Now that's not necessarily a bad thing because Ashley is written as young and naive and it's not the voice actors fault the story is slightly repetitive. That said, the story is fun and interesting and full of chemistry and so, so wrong that you'll love it!

I am guessing this series is aimed at the younger end of the adult market and possible audio newbies. Therefore I can see it being a huge hit, so the enthusiasm supplied by the female narrator should not be an issue. If it is, and you want to carry on with the series, then I am pleased to tell you that from book 2 the female narrator tones it down - so don't be put off.

As for Ethan, his voice actor plays the part well, though Ethan as a character is rather OTT and comically quant. Again, as the series progresses you see hidden sides of the two MCs develop and their soup of emotions start to push them into paths they never thought they'd ever take.

This first story is just an introduction to the two MCs and the journey to their first sexual encounter. It's a taboo type slightly rom com type romance. The audio is about 2 hours long - great for an afternoon on the beach!

Too short to be sure

Fun story to hear, the characters are ok. However, be warned that this is only the first 2 chapters of the story, and you'll definitely be hanging there at the end of this first book... Therefore, I wouldn't really call it a book but an episode.
The premise of this story is straightforward, and while not really anything new, it's ok. The characters were fun to listen to, but a little annoying as you get to hear everything they think, and they question everything they think (try counting the number of "right", "what was I thinking" and such). Definitely for a younger audience.
I guess one of my main peeves is that being only 2 chapters, you don't get to see anything really as growth or story. It feels a little too sex-oriented and not much in the story yet...
I will listen to the next episode an see if I'll be hanging there or not.

Hot & steamy - Book 1

Mia Clark’s Stepbrother with benefits book 1 was a steamy short read. CJ Bloom and James Cavenaught are great as Ashley and Ethan. Can’t wait for book 2.

Short & Steamy

Ashley comes home from college after her idiot bf breaks up so he can go with other girls over the break. Ethan her step brother tells her she needs someone better than him and they end up watching a movie and drinking. Ashley dares Ethan thinking he’ll back down but he doesn’t and things go from there. I enjoyed listening to this it was short each episode is only around 90 minutes.

Quick Listen

Ethan and Ashley start a one week relationship after she dared him to have sex with her. Quick story with cliffhanger.

This is the first book in the series that introduces us to Ashley, Ethan, their relationship and the chemistry between them. I thought that the narrators did a great job with the characters and their story.

Interesting tease

This one was a very intriguing start to the series and I certainly enjoyed the characters that I met during this book. This is the first time that i have listened to a book in this serial style, and I enjoyed it.
