An inspiration to all

Stefan is a good teacher with a very direct opinion of what makes art great, good, or in need of improvement. Full disclosure, I’m a former student of his and he helped me considerably not just as a painter, but as an artist. I was formally a tattooist, tattooing “things” not effects, something I quickly learnt that if I wanted to progress in any serious manor in the art would away from tattoos, then I needed to get on board. I have listened to most of his content and reflect back to out 2pm Monday afternoon conversations any time I start to wonder if what I’m doing is good or not. It’s like he told me when I asked him how to paint; “it’s up to you to figure out how to make your marks, I’m just telling you that it’s the effect that people want to see, not the thing, things aren’t interesting, effects are interesting.” These videos are great to help fill in my time when I’m on the road and don’t want to listen to music.

Stefan, if you read this, thank you as I’m internationally grateful for the advice and guidance you gave when I was just starting out.
