Publisher's Summary

He makes my heart do the tango, and my head wants to explode. In other words, it’s just another day working for Prince Malcolm.

Alice

Give me a problem and I’ll fix it. That’s what I do. The trick is remaining calm and preparing oneself for any eventuality. But even I failed to anticipate my former boss Malcolm crossing an ocean to bribe me for my help.

He insists I’m the only one who can fix his problem, but I had an excellent reason for leaving that job in the first place and putting an ocean between us. It’s hard to keep the big picture in mind when you’re secretly in love with your boss. And even harder when he’s about to be crowned a king.

Malcolm

Being a prince certainly has its perks: money, cars, women, and a license to do just about anything I please. But since my assistant Alice resigned out of the blue, I’ve been unable to find my footing and have admittedly been a bit cranky.

When a problem arises calling for the utmost discretion, it’s clear Alice is the only woman for the job. But she’s less than thrilled at being coerced into returning, and she’s doing her best to make me pay for it. With the clock ticking down to my coronation, I’m putting all my trust in her to see me through. But the stakes are getting higher because Alice is beginning to look more like my future than even the throne I was born to take.

Stealing Kisses with a King is book three in the Kings of Carolina series. It can be enjoyed as a stand-alone but is swoonier (yeah, I made that word up) when listened to in order.

This was already a great book but the dual narrators knock it out of the park! So much fun to listen to and the accents were spot on!

Even better in audio

Listen to the audiobook!

I read the book shortly after it came out, but I just listened to it as an audiobook and it was even better. After listening, I bumped up the rating to 4.5 stars because all the relationship drama is more entertaining in an audiobook. Jessica Elisa Boyd and Philip Battley were both new narrators for me, but I would listen to both again. They did a great job conveying what the characters were feeling in the way they said the words. In general, they illustrated the humor in the relationship stumbles better than I did when reading the words alone.

The story itself was fun. I especially liked the clever lines and funny comparisons peppered throughout the book.

An offbeat royal rom-com; Alice is awesome!

This is the third book in the Kings of Carolina series, and they are best be read in order.  Alice and Malcolm were introduced in the first two books about Malcolm’s brother.  Malcolm is the crown prince of the Feldlands, a fictional European country similar to the Netherlands.  His ill father is stepping down soon, and Malcolm has some trepidation about how good of a king he will be.  Things such haven’t seemed right since his trusty personal assistant Alice quit a few months ago.  Alice quit because she couldn’t deal with her secret, unrequited love for Malcolm anymore, and Malcolm seemed oblivious to her as a woman.

I love Alice with her determined, clever, get-stuff-done mentality.  Malcolm is very generous and thoughtful with the citizens of his country, but he often acts like a self-absorbed jerk around his employees and family.  Therefore, Malcolm has a lot of maturing to do, and Alice has to deal with her own emotional baggage amidst the funny banter during this offbeat courtship.  I love the sexual tension, the insider's look at the employees behind the fictional royalty, the supporting characters, the steamy times, and the hilarious dialogue.  I highly recommend this entire series to all fans of rom-com and all fans of royal contemporary romances.

The pair of narrators, Philip Battley and Jessica Elisa Boyd, both did amazing jobs!  I adored their British-like accents for the Feldlanders and the North Carolina accents for the family and friends from that part of the world.  Jessica Elisa Boyd nailed Alice’s interior monologue, and Philip Battley was a totally charming crown prince.  They were both very versatile at all the character voices and very good at the comic timing.  I am going to look up their other books.

I Love It!

I so glad I got to listen to Malcolm's story. It is so true that guys are dense not noticing love when it's right in front of them. Malcolm charmed Alice to return to their country to train his new assistant not letting her know the real reason. Alice bared her feelings only to be heartbroken until he came to his senses.

Philip Battley was the perfect voice for Malcolm. He captured his personality. Jessica Elisa Boyd was an astounding Alice. There were many comical moments.

cute story

I don't read/listen to a lot of royal stories, but I've listened to all 3 books in this series now. this one might be my favorite of the 3. the narrators did a good job, except their Ruby was a little rough. I feel like, especially the male narrator, tried a little too hard at a southern accent and it just didn't work for me. also, the volume and speed were different. he was louder, she was faster. it made it harder to find a happy medium. otherwise they were enjoyable

Alice and Malcolm!

This book was lighthearted and full of humor and heat. Alice and Malcolm are quite the match. Her very straight laced personality is completely at odds with his perceived incapable and unconcerned attitude.

The growth these two undergo is endearing. They’re fun and flirty but there’s also so much that needs to change in order for them to be together while still maintaining that spark.

‘Have I told you you’re looking particularly tasty this evening.’

Alice and Malcom will definitely give you all the feels in this royal romance!

Great book

Sylvie blended humour, swoon, and heart to give us an addicting and enjoyable read.

Alice.... I want to be her when I grow up. She is fabulous.
Mal grew on me (after reading the first two books in the series he wasn’t my favourite person) and by the end I was totally swooning.

Narration was a bit patchy in places but overall a good listen.

5 stars! Loved it.

Love this story of Malcolm and Alice. Great characters and wonderful writing. Humor and warmth abound.
This could be read as a standalone but I’d recommend reading the earlier duet in the series first - both to meet the characters and because the duet was so wonderfully good too.

Loved the dual narration of Jessica Elisa Boyd and Philip Battley
Malcolm is about to become king . When Alice left, he has to figure out what he needs to apologise for to get her back. Alice was the only one that kept him on track and put up with him. But did he really just miss her for her organizational skills or was there something more? Would he be able to figure it out

Alice tried to fight her feelings. Malcolm is starting to realise what he has lost.

A Delightful Entertaining RomCom & Listen🎧

Sylvie Stewart continues to wow me with another wonderfully delightful RomCom set in her “Kings of Carolina” series. This book can be enjoyed as a standalone, but I highly recommend starting the series with the first book, not only are the books amazing but you’ll meet the two lead characters in those books and knowing their backstory adds more depth to the characters. That said, the author provides enough details so you will not feel lost just reading this on its own. This third book features Malcolm and Alice, Malcolm is next in line for the throne and will be crowned the new King of Feldsland. He is missing his assistant, Alice, his right hand, who stayed in America. Absolutely clueless why she stayed in the US and why she’s avoiding him, but his determination pays off when he tracks her down and goes to get her. Alice needed to stay away from Malcolm because she developed feeling for him and knows those feeling would not be reciprocated. Thinking on his feet he makes a deal and reluctantly she agrees to go back for a limited time. Alice and Malcolm make a great team and Malcolm is aware of this and continues to plot of ways to keep her happy so she never wants to leave. I loved how everything played out in this book, the story is beautifully plotted with the perfect balance of drama, humor, heartfelt emotions and some steamy romance. It was great to watch Malcolm grow not only as a person but into his own, even great when he realized what Alice was to him. Sylvie Stewart, thank you for another delightfully entertaining story, the witty dialogue was amazing and I loved how much heart you put into your work.

🎧📚🎧 And for the fabulous narration, Sylvie Stewart cast the perfect narrators to bring her characters and story to life. Jessica Elissa Boyd and Philip Battley are talented narrators and voice artists. They had a complete understanding of the characters they portrayed, gave each a voice that fit that character’s persona to a tee, sounding believable in every role they played and just as I pictured the character to sound. You could hear how much heart they put into their work as they captured the characters’ emotions and projected them into their performance. They set the perfect tone for the story, handled the witty dialogue with ease and landed the humor flawlessly. They are entertaining storytellers and a pleasure to listen to. Thank you for the wonderful listen.

Book 3 standalone

I think this one was my favorite of the 3 so far. Not sure if more are coming in this series. The characters are great. The story kept my attention the entire time. There are some heated scenes but not a lot. I feel like there was a good lesson to learn from this book, maybe even two. The narration was great. 🎧 Audiobook Obsession

Never fall in love with a man-baby

Prince Malcolm is soon to be crowned king but he's still very immature and in desperate need of Alice his personal assistant who left suddenly because she became too emotionally involved with him. But he's determined to get her back despite not realising her true feelings.
The narrators did an amazing job of bringing all the characters to life and I highly recommend this story.
