Enjoyed it!

I think the narrator did a good job telling this story. This is the first book in the series where 3 women Whitney, Summer, and Margo who run into each other as they are leaving a support group for divorcees. They form their own support group and friendship. This is mostly Whitney's story. Whitney meets Luca at a bar but at first she shoots the younger man down. Then it turns out she just got a job at his family's company. An entertaining quick listen. Great story and characters. Can't wait to read the other two woman's story.

Fun Listen

Just the right story at the right time. I was in need of something light and fun and this really hit the spot. Low angst but still a strong heroine learning to get her groove back. I can tell the other gals in the jilted wives club are going to be just as good!

I enjoyed to short, sweet rom com
Fmc is divorced, after being cheated on by ex who she’s been with for over 20 years.

Mmc is younger, never been married and has his life together with a good job and good family.

Sweet second chance romance

An all-around sweet romance… this age gap, second chance story brought out all the smiles. I enjoyed the supportive friendship and humor of the Jilted Wives Club as they encouraged Whitney to get back into the dating scene, with one sexy (and younger) Luca. Their chemistry was so natural, and Luca’s wholesome, family-oriented upbringing was just the perfect match for Whitney… if she could only let down her walls and let Luca inside. Every blooming relationship has its bumps to overcome and the author did a great job of weaving in the importance of family, acceptance, and being worthy of finding love again. I’m looking forward to seeing what’s in store for the rest of the Jilted Wives’ members. A new-to-me narrator, Amanda Miller did a great performance, although her female voices are definitely her strong suit. Even though there wasn’t much distinction with the male counterparts, it was still easy to follow along and did not deter from the enjoyable listening experience.

Fun and charming read!

I recently had the opportunity to listen to Starter Wife by Bethany Lopez, which is book one in her new The Jilted Wives Club. Narrated by Amanda Miller, she brings this story about second chances to life as a group of women come together to support each other. I have to tell you I loved all of them, but up first is Whitney. Whitney is divorced and looking to see what comes next for her. She definitely never expected Luca. And I just loved him. He was sweet and charming and just so determined. Whitney is dealing with so many changes, can she let Luca in her life? I definitely loved watching him try.

Starter Wife by Bethany Lopez was a great introduction to the series and included some great characters. I am so excited to see what is to come!

Easy listen

Interesting story about a woman that is divorced with teenage kids finding a new love. The new love is several years younger than she is. I enjoyed the story and found it easy to listen.

Starter Wife by B. Lopez is the first book in the new Jilted Wives Club Series. This aidio book was narrated by Amanda Miller.
Lets just say, this is another winner for me. I started reading and it was like coming home after a long day to snuggle up on the couch and relax. This book was that good.
Whitney is a divorced mom of two teens who's ready to start over. New job, new relationship - maybe, new friends.
Luca is a successful young business man, a good guy, the perfect bookboyfriend, a dreamguy.
Both have some hangups, but they never give up. A heartwarming, fantastic read. The story gave me all the feels. I fell in insta-love with storyline and characters. Just perfect for a weekend on the couch.

Whitney and Luca

Whitney is older than Luca and she worries about the age difference and she two teenage kids. She is starting over after the divorced and getting back into the work world. Luca works in his Dad’s family business and comes from a very close family, including Sunday dinners. These two meet in a bar and she is not ready, she is actually just starting a counseling group for Jilted wives while in that bar. He cant stop thinking about her. I think this is a great story and a nice beginning to a series. I would recommend this story. I have a note about narration…the narrator does a pretty good job on the two main characters but the secondary characters are not very good. Margo and Dad. It is still well worth a listen. Starter Wife by Bethany Lopez is a contemporary romance that I listened to on audio narrated by Amanda Miller. This is the first book in The Jilted Wives Club.

Bethany's books always leave me with a smile. I really enjoyed the relationship that bloomed between Whitney and Luca. I loved that we got both of their points of views throughout the book. It really brought the story to life.

I can't wait for the next book in the series Trophy Wife to be released on audio so I can get Summer and Noah's story.

Amanda did a great job on the narration. I look forward to listening to more of her work in the future.

older women/younger man

I read this book when it came out and have enjoyed several books by Bethany Lopez in the past. I'm not usually inclined to liking older women/younger men tropes, but the storyline was great and the characters were wonderful. I was invested in the outcome. My heart ached as well as cheered Whitney on to get a happy ending. This world she has created has me excited for the next books!

Amanda Miller did a good job as narrator. Her male voices aren't quite as good as hoped, but it wasn't bad. I would have enjoyed the narration better with a male narrator though. Overall, I enjoyed listening to the book.

Such a fun listen! This story has age gap, office romance, & single mom tropes. Britney, Summer & Margot meet when they all flee a support group. They seem like an unlikely trio of friends, but they work, and form The Jilted Wives club. Luca hasn’t had a relationship since high school, so his immediate interest in Britney is unusual. I got immersed in their story, navigating work & families. It’s a great look at divorce, dating, returning to the work force, merging families, and I appreciated the mature, thoughtful way Britney behaved. Krys Janae brought the characters to life brilliantly.

Loved it

This is an age gap romance but with the Female being the older of the two. Luca knows what he wants it just takes Whitney a bit longer to see it given she's not long out of a messy divorce where her ex husband Cheater. The 3 girls who have all been divorced come together to make the Jilted wife group and are there for each other through the good and bad. Cannot wait to listen to Trophy wife.

Funny & relatable!

Refreshing and funny, totally relatable and an all around enjoyable listen, Bethany Lopez's Starter Wife is a winner! I love her new adult books, but I do enjoy listening to the over 40 perspective too. Whitney is recently divorced, jobless and trying to start over after 20 years of marriage. When she joins a support group, she finds a couple of friends that she can easily relate to and they form the Jilted Wives Club. Luca, a successful businessman has not found the woman of his dreams yet. Sure, he has dated, but nothing serious. When Whitney crosses his path, his life is about to change.Will Whitney be willing to take the chance on love again? Is Luca willing to take on a woman with an ex and children? This romcom had me laughing and understanding exactly these women! There is a lot of emotional baggage incurred over 20 years as well as a fear of starting new. Let alone the handsome man is younger! The kids are spot on with their feelings and I love the interaction with Luca's family and Whitney's ex. It's got all the elements to make a heavy subject into a light and enjoyable listen. I loved it and can't wait to hear the next in the series.

Amanda Miller is our story teller and she gives us a wonderful rendition of the story. Good voices, easily distinguishable characters and an easy pace make the listen fly by. It was a fun story!
