Simply excellent.
This book was superb, from the detail of the the writing, to how philosophical it can get. I wish Hollywood hadn't had it's easy with this story.

Classic Science Fiction, Well Narrated
I had never before read Starship Troopers but decided to try it after reading a few reviews. I'm a pretty big fantasy/scifi guy, and this book was highly touted as a must-read in that section. I can now say that this story lives up to the hype as one of the greatest classic science fiction books ever written. Robert Heinlein writes a story that is both exciting and philosophical that kept me interested from page one. His ideas about what citizenship means and other postulates are intriguing and will make you think. I would definitely give this book a try if you are a science fiction fan. Also don't judge this book by the movie (which I actually enjoyed). It is almost a completely different story and of course much better. Lastly the narration was excellent. Lloyd James allows you to forget he is there which is exactly what I want from my narrator.

Don't judge the book by the movie!
I'd been told to check out the book, despite the terrible movie, and it took me years to do so. This (audio) book is amazing, and the depth of the story, logic, and empathy for this future world is not match by many other works of Science Fiction. The reader is also nuanced, delivering different characters, and occasionally accents with ease. I'm definitely going to try to get friends to read and/or listen to this.

A warrior and a poet
There was a rather alarming amount of philosophy in this book and too my surprise I find myself agreeing with most of it.
Aside from that it’s a pretty straightforward cookie cutter life of a grunt book. Not sure if it was the trend setter or just one in the line, I’d have to look that up, but overall the book was an enjoyable listen.

Better than the movie!
More about the elite soldier, leadership, chain of command than just killing alien bugs.
The voice narrator did fine, but he is not the voice I want to hear when narrating a story about hardened elite space marines. Hearing a soft, city-boy voice speak for the hardest mother fkers in the galaxy is really out of place.
