Publisher's summary

Tristran Thorn will do anything to win the cold heart of beautiful Victoria Forester - even fetch her the star they watch fall from the night sky. But to do so, he must enter the unexplored lands on the other side of the ancient wall that gives their tiny village its name. Beyond that stone barrier, Tristran learns, lies Faerie . . . and the most exhilarating adventure of the young man's life.

From number-one New York Times best-selling author Neil Gaiman comes a tale of the dark and miraculous - a quest for true love and the utterly impossible.

Awesome Read

Everything about this book worked for me. I loved it. The characters, the writing style, the plot, the romance, the magic. It was brilliant. This is a charming journey of self-discovery by a character who has a dual nature, human and fairy. My favorite book by Neil Gaiman's so far!

Never disappointed!

Neil Gaiman is my all time favorite author. Every time I listen to him narrate I feel like I’ve been transported to a little nook with a window, watching the rain with a blazing fire nearby. Stardust has now been added to my list of favorites and I plan to visit it again. My all time favorite is The Ocean at the End of the Lane. A suggestion for anyone looking for another amazing Neil Gaiman tale.

Classic Favorite

This book is amazing. It is the perfect fairytale for older kids and adults and most definitely one of my top favorites. Neil's narration is wonderful. If you have any qualms about listening to this, do not fret - it's a wonderful piece of work. I've listened and read Stardust many, many times.

A good adventure.

This is my first book by Neil Gaiman, I enjoyed it enough that I will read more of his work in the future. Although this is supposed to be an adventurous romance story, there was only a little romance to it. But there was lots of adventure even if the ending was anticlimactic. I went home and watched the movie right after listening to this and I like the ending on that version better. As for this being an Adult fairytale, it was pretty tame. This was one of those books that I bought on my kindle and then purchased the whispersync version and only paid around $5 for both. Usually when an author narrates his own book it doesn't work out, but Neil Gaiman could easily get a second job as a narrator for audible he was good.
