Publisher's Summary

An action-packed novel that ushers in a new age of adventure in the critically acclaimed StarCraft series from Blizzard Entertainment.

Award-winning author Timothy Zahn pens the latest chapter in the stunning StarCraft saga, building on the game's rich legacy to create an unforgettable new story.

After nearly a decade of brutal warfare, three mighty factions - the enigmatic Protoss, the savage Zerg, and the Terrans, humanity's descendants in the sector - have entered a cease-fire, but the peace is tenuous at best. When the sudden restoration of an incinerated planet is brought to light, tensions erupt. Neutrality swings back to hostility, and old enemies are accused of developing biological weapons to reignite the bitter conflict.

An expedition of Terran and Protoss soldiers and researchers is deployed to investigate the mysterious Zerg planet and its inhabitants' intentions. But the lush alien landscape is host to other denizens, creatures shrouded in shadow, and should they be unleashed, they will change the fate of the entire galaxy.

Solid Book. Really expands on the lore well

Zahn does a great job here of expanding the lore. If you were at all curious about what happens after Legacy of the Void here it is. Zahn also gives a lot of depth to characters that you usually just control and put to there deaths in the game.
Only part I didn't like is that Artanis felt a little out of character then he was in Legacy of the Void. All in all of you like StarCraft read this.

Another awesome story by Timothy Zahn.

Being a fan of both StarCraft and of Timothy Zahn, I chose this book with high expectations and they were very well met. I have played all three StarCraft II games so I am very familiar with their plot lines. It was so much fun to read an exciting story that picks up after the games and continues on with another adventure in that universe. Here we are introduced to new characters (as well as a few old ones) that take us on an adventure with great dialog, plenty of action, and still keeps you guessing until the very end. I couldn't stop listening as the performance by Christopher was so engrossing. His voice characterizations fit perfectly with the mood of the story and the characters as I imagined them.
Although this book will stand alone as a complete story, its even better knowing how it fits in with the rest of the StarCraft universe. If you haven't played the games, you can go on YouTube and watch the full video cinematics for the StarCraft II games to understand the previous stories. Blizzard created great stories and an amazing universe, so they set a very high bar.
This book takes the StarCraft story to new heights. FIVE STARS all the way around. (I've already pre-ordered his next book "Thrawn" - one of my favorite characters of all time.)

worth every minute

Seeing as how Starcraft was my first RTS game, and I played through all the games thus far, when I saw this on Audible I just knew I had to listen to it.
Every moment was great, from the mood setting, to the narration, to the storyline, to the characters and everything.
I admit, I was kind of disheartend with the fact that this all happens on the same planet and in 1 day, but overall this is an amazing book.
A must to every fan of the franchise, simply amazing and worth every minute of it.
En Taro Tassadar!

If you're a StarCraft die hard... you'll love it.

If you're favorite Blizzard franchise is StarCraft, you'll love it. Picks up after the events of Legacy of the Void and tells a story/adventure involving some of the characters from the game. Great and fun time for any StarCraft fan. Timothy Zahn does a fine job telling this story. He's admitted that he didn't know much about StarCraft but was obviously filled in on all the little details. I mean, come on... he created the Star Wars Thrawn character... he knows his stuff and knows how to tell a good Sci-fi story.

You will like this book

I’m pretty sure you are the type of person who wants to listen to any media that can leverage the hours of character development, lore, artwork and social hierarchy you’ve experienced over the years because you played the campaign of Starcraft, then Broodwar, then Starcraft 2. Why else would you search audible for Starcraft? Yain’t here looken to buy a camper...

And oh man you came to the right place my nerd brethren! We know all about how the story has “evolved” up through LoV. This story seems to build on all of that. That’s why you will enjoy herring

Must read for any StarCraft fan

If you could sum up StarCraft: Evolution in three words, what would they be?

To anyone who has ever played StarCraft or has ever read any novels about it. YOU SHOULD READ THIS! This has to be one of the best StarCraft novels I've read. Timothy Zahn is just friggin' amazing!

I liked it.

I thought it was great. I would have liked a little more closure at the end though. Overall though I liked the diversity of characters and the guy reading it actually knew the voices of all the characters (With a slight exception for Artanis. Made him sound like an old wizard. )

Takes a while to get going but if you've played the games then you'll probably love it.
