Wonderful work of Christian fiction

I really enjoyed Star Wielder. Annah does a great job of showing how one’s actions and decisions can change when we put our faith and trust in God. We see a world fallen into debauchery and the evil we allow in when we focus on the world and not God. There’s good character development for almost all the main people and the world building is great! And I love that she wove Scripture throughout.

I will say the ending left me a little confused. I *think* I understand what she was getting at but it was very abrupt and not made clear enough for my liking.

The narrator took a little getting used but no more than getting used to a new person’s style. Her voice for Breeze was obnoxious which fit her character traits perfectly! My only issue is she says Jemma’s (FMC) name two or three different ways throughout the book.

Complex Worldbuilding

This was my first experience with this author's work. It took me some time to become absorbed by the story as there was so much going on that I was at first confused as the story jumped from one character's actions to another's. Once I learned about the different characters, the story flowed more easily; however, I thought some editorial tightening would have been of benefit. Although I learned to like some of the characters, they all seemed a little one-sided, and I didn't like that they all seemed to excel at their actions. I appreciated the similarities that this book had to another well known classic of children's literature and fantasy. I thought Emma Mary Currans' narration was good, but there were times when her presentation was almost sing-songy. I was given a copy of the audiobook. I volunteered, without financial gain, to post this review which reflected my honest opinions regarding this audiobook.
