Amazing

If you thought the OT atories were missing a bit of the details then you will love this book. It looks into thinks you probably never thought of. Like the how the engineer of the DS2 felt about his monstrous creation. Very well written and executed

Fantastic

What did you like best about this story?

This book adds just the right emotions and settings to fill in the holes that were in the original story.

author or commentator

my only issue with this one, the author would sometimes choose to talk directly to the listener or write as if he were talking to the characters. He didn't do it often but when he did it was distracting, other than that he did a good job.

Cheesy radio play.

This is a radio play, not an audiobook-- and a stupid one at that. The narrative style is breezy, conversational, and attempts to be funny.

Yub-Nub!!!

I loved this retelling of Return of the Jedi. It's the best book in this 3 part series, and I enjoyed it better than the movie itself. I wish this author did all three books.

I also liked the first book in this series: Princess, Scoundrel, Farmboy. Unfortunately, the second book I hated more than any book I have ever encountered: So You Want to be a Jedi was worse than garbage, it ruined the story of ESB and Star Wars. I couldn't stand to even finish the book.

It was such a relief that the storytelling was nothing like it's predecessor. I wanted more. I never liked Ewoks before, but now I want more Yub-Nub!

This is the worst thing ever done to Star Wars

Let me begin with Marc Thompson, he's is titan of Star Wars narration and voice work. THE BEST. Every book he's done in the series has been a wonderful presentation. This though... stang... by the emperor... so bad. its written in a way that entirely unravels the story with beginning of each chapter, and jarringly pulls you from the narrative by including a ridiculous author's point of view description of the entire chapter before it begins; and yes, it's author's point of view, NOT narrative description.
If someone could work this weekend, and uh, cut alllll that absurd nonsense out and rewrite the entire thing as an Expanded Edition, that'd be greeeeaat. First book of over 100 that I truly regret buying on this app. First Star Wars Novel I didnt absolutely love, nonetheless despise. I've fallen to the dark side because of this book. Two thumbs down, two other fingers up.

Star Wars: Return of the Jedi

I loved this book. No problems with it at all. This was my favorite movie out of the trilogy and so was this book.

Cringe

This is the worst Star Wars novel I have read. Possibly the worst novel. I know it’s for junior readers but I’ve never experienced a book written like this. Someone needs to rewrite in the legends series.

For Clone Wars Fans

It’s not perfect. But it’s good. It took me a few chapters to get used to the writing style, but once I got past that, there are so many little gems throughout that link this retelling to the Clone Wars that I ended up really enjoying it. I think people should suspend what they think a story should be and enjoy it for what it is. I would recommend this book to any fan because it’s a book that tries to honor a lot of the Star Wars saga and is largely successful.
