This was an interesting story about descrimination against people who have gifts. The story line centers around people who are persecuted for helping and healing others. The main Character is Tatiana who has the gift of healing. Her gift can be turned into other things besides healing. Tatiana is trying to find a place where she can live in peace and not be hurt or ran out of where she is just because she is different. I received this audio book for free in exchange for an unbiased review.
Good listen!

Greatly Enjoyable

This book was amazing as expected. The characters were well thought out and established and the the story well thought out. I was lucky enough to receive this book free of charge in return for an honest review and am grateful I did. You will not be disappointed in this book.

Star touched

I know a lot of people loved this book and that is fine because I can see why they loved it. But for me I found certain things like jumping from one time to another confusing at time which means you have really concentrate. I'll admit that put me off. My other problem is that it had a mixture of young adult elements and adult themes as well. So I could not tell if this was meant to be for YA or adults and there were parts that were slow.
This does not mean that the book was not interesting but I think with a little tweak it would be a great book.

Quite Imaginative

I really enjoyed this story. The storyline showed some excellent imagining by A.L. Kaplan. The timeline changes were at times a little confusing in the audiobook format, but not so much that the story suffered. I look forward to additional books.

Steve Campbell was excellent. I enjoyed his change in character voices. Made it easy to distinguish between characters.

Not A Genre I Enjoy

Unfortunately, this book wasn't for me. Not because the characters or writing or story was bad, I'm just not a fan of this genre! I feel like people who like more dystopian like story lines would really enjoy this, I just wasn't interested in it enough to finish it.

An epic emotional ride and adventure

I was given a free copy of this book in exchange for an honest review. And, here it is. I loved this, from start to finish. It was a tiny bit slow to start, but, it had to be in order to build up to the epic climax and wrapup. Kaplan did a fabulous job of creating a world, characters and an event that brought it all together. You felt the uncertainty and turmoil, surrounding everything, but, the beautiful end and moving forward. The adventure was steady all the way, and the sweet touch of romance was a nice topping to bring it all together. Steve Campbell did a fabulous job narrating and helping Kaplan create a world as vast and as timeless as any. It had touches, subtle touches of Robert McKamin's Swan song mixed in, I spelled his last name wrong but you get the point but, the buildup was a lot like that with vast characters and the different circumstances they all were shaped from. I hope Kaplan writes more, I can't wait to see what she creates next. THANKS guys for giving me the opportunity to review this one. It was a pleasure.

Dystopian Post Apocalyptic Fantasy

This is an interesting post apocalyptic mystery with flash backs from the past to fill in the blanks. Tatiana has gone through so much! I really connected and felt her pain and loved her awesome “little” companion!

Narration was well done and brought the story to life and kept me engaged from beginning to conclusion.

Although this is under teens, I would say this is more of an young adult fantasy. There are some dark elements with mature sexual elements that could be triggers for some people that have endured abuse and violence.

The characters were well developed and the story flows at a great pace. It really picks up towards the end! There are some unexpected developments and some people are not what they seem. I’m looking forward to book 2. I’m curious to see how this story progresses. Thankfully, no major cliffhangers!

Imaginative YA Dystopian Fantasy

This book was given to me for free at my request and I provided this voluntary review.

Overall, I loved this audiobook. The dystopian world was interesting, thoughtful, and a unique blend of realism and supernatural that kept me on the edge of my seat. I loved the characters, and the plot was pretty fast-paced once it got going. It was also incredibly evocative and emotional at times, really making me feel for the characters and their pain.

The narration was solid. A little weak on some of the female voices, but overall very easy to listen to.

Overall, I loved this book, and I really hope there's going to be a sequel!

Powerful Fantasy

So, I loved everything there was to love about this book from poor star-touched Tatiana to her amazing little sidekick.

After a lifetime on the run for her powers, Tatiana has finally found a place she can call home. Not everyone accepts her, but for once, she is at peace, and she is content with that. There is something shady going on in her new town though, and the city she comes to love begins to crumble.

Every character had a unique personality, and this book gave off an old southern cowboy vibe. All in all, it was a very enjoyable story for dystopia and fantasy fans.

Oh, and the narration was spot on!

A little on the dull side for me.

I found this book to be a little on the dull side but that just for me. I have a problem with things keeping my attention so if the book can't really hook me in the first few chapters it kinda gets lost in my library never to be seen again.

I felt that Steve did a great job and I'm pretty sure that I have listened too and enjoyed other books by him. Now don't get my wrong I'm not saying this is a bad but it just couldn't hook me into it.
