Publisher's Summary

Start as a RECRUIT...become a SUPER-SOLDIER...end up a GALACTIC WARLORD.

Don your armor, load up on ammo, and get ready for your combat training. You don't become a badass by signing on the dotted line, you gotta earn it the hard way...same goes for your team. You have to learn to fight, how to work together, and how to lose...for the ancient origins of humanity on Earth are dark, devastating, and destined to return. Earth is going to lose, and lose badly when our time is up, but out of the ashes of defeat, we may be able to scrounge up a future if you and the other future warlords can learn how to overcome the losses and turn them to our advantage.

And the one advantage we have is the repository of ancient knowledge left behind when our former masters abandoned Earth during a civil war. They assume everyone died, but a few human slaves remained and now we live only because of that mistake.

But they didn't just make one. Their second was leaving the most heavily defended and valuable building on the planet intact because destroying it along with the others when they bugged out would be too time-consuming. Instead, they buried it and now we have limited access to the advanced technology and database inside. From it we know the truth about our ancestry, as well as the superhuman powers they laced into our genome...and because of those powers, any human not under their direct control carries with them an automatic death sentence.

So when we're found out, we're all going to die...unless you and your team can grow into the war leaders we need, figure out how to use the ancient technology as well as those who created it, and find a way to do the impossible and overcome a galactic empire millions of years old. An empire known as the V'kit'no'sat, which Earth hilariously misinterpreted as a group of extinct animals called the Dinosaurs.

IS THIS AUTHOR A COMMIE SPY???

This series is more communist propaganda than actual sci-fi fiction. Aer-ki jyr makes it a point in all his books to push his anti capitalist, overt gun control, anti military, anti American Bill of Rights, and his belief that liberty should be traded for safety. He says more than once in this book that might makes right, and power does not corrupt, and that the powerful need more power to better protect the people from the bad guys. He creates a society in this book that rules by the weapon and strength of mental abilities. This society has more restrictions on it than present day America, and that's hard to do, and still claim a free society. Here is a hard fact, any nation or government that wants to keep arms put of the hands of its citizens is a government that has ill intentions towards those it is supposed to serve, and/or it wants total control in every aspect of its people's lives. This author has his main character go so far as to ban the eating of meat, alcohol, and forced birth control if you don't meet certain genetic standards. He wipes out all cultures. Makes it only legal to speak in english. There is so much more, but WOW!! If this guy ever gets any real power, he would believe that he has the right to be a dictator because he is smarter than anyone else. I hope this dude never has children. They will live a very sheltered and toxic life.

Drab

I've went on to listen to 5 more books hoping the nuggets of actual story will get better. They haven't. Zero charachter development. Forgettable and utterly two dimensional protagonists that are all clones of one another. Endless, pointless battles with little significance and endless training (yea we get it, training is important to starforce. almost 1/3rd of the entire series so far is comprised the same repetitive chapters about training drills!). Wheres the substance? The plot moves forward at a snails pace. You could cut 80% of the text in the series for an abridged version without losing much. Night and day in comparison to the other series by BV Larson of the same name.

Not to put a downer on the work that has gone into writing these, but hire an editor. Cut the unnecessary parts that do absolutely nothing for the story. It reads like a play by play in an RTS game at times. Then repeats. Or the sims or an RPG game with endless battles to level up characters for the sake of leveling up.

Gave it a run. Won't be continuing. The author has shown no improvement as the series has went on and the narrators are mostly awful. Save your money/credits. Check out the other starforce series instead.
