For as bad as the treason regarding the Humans and the bastardized Hadarak is, and the implications that one of the two founding V'kit'no'sat races are behind it, a much larger rift within the empire is being exposed that has the potential to do what neither the Zak'de'ron culling nor the Rit'ko'sor rebellion accomplished. A full Dinosaur civil war.
Star Force is a massive sci-fi franchise currently divided into two phases. Phase 2 is the V'kit'no'sat war between Star Force and the Dinosaur empire. Phase 1 is the backstory to that conflict detailed in the Origin Series that contains 100 novella-length episodes.
New listeners can either start with the backstory or jump right into the conflict with the Phase 2 entry novel Lost Destiny. The Mak'to'ran series is written in heavy canon detail and not friendly to new listeners...unless you're adventurous, adaptive, and overly intelligent. If you are, then you might be worthy of being a V'kit'no'sat, in which case dive right in and learn how Jurassic Park got the dinosaurs oh so wrong. They're not attractions in a petting zoo. They're the masters of our galaxy.

Great Story but Too Short
I’ve read all the available audiobooks until now. Maktoran 1 is the last till the author or Audible come to their senses. All the new books are 3 hours long. They need to combine some; 11-12 hours at least. I could spend $50-60 dollars in a week at 3 hour books - which I will not do. I love this series and check weekly for new releases. Alas, I highly recommend the story. When you have listened to the “regular” length stories you will have to decide whether to go on with what appears to be a new trend of 3 hour audible books. Reading would be cheaper but I simply don’t have time. Please combine some of these and thanks for one of my favorite stories. I will miss you.

Sometimes smaller rodents would escape the purge if the Hadarak did not have their tinier forms in production that could actually catch and kill them, but in general, once a planet was fully "consumed", there would be no lifeforms on it except Hadarak.
