Publisher's summary

Star Druid: Publisher's Pack contains books 1 and 2 of the Star Druid series.

Star Druid, book 1:

What is an exiled druid to do when their order is destroyed by a rising tide of darkness?

1. Seize magical power.
2. Get rich.
3. Gather a harem of beautiful women.
4. Revenge. Sweet, sweet revenge.

The Burning Grove, book 2:

Antihero or villain?

The rebuilding of the Druid order is going well but those who attacked it the first time have not given up on their schemes and once more Banok finds himself on a mission that he'll do anything to complete. Brutal choices and twists abound.

Note: This series is space fantasy. Real physics are ignored, and spells are slung. There is also violence, sex, and other things people might enjoy.

Angry Orchard

A darker spin on the space druid. Solid harem, fun sci-fi elements and a heist movie vibe all add up to a damn cool couple of books.

Refreshing!

I'm really getting into Skylar Grant. I've been quite pleased with everything I've read of his. In this book (s) I really enjoyed the characters. He didn't step lightly to about hurting peoples proclivities, the romantic scenes were good, not drawn out looked some authors do. seemed like it was realistic, because it's not always"oh yeah do me" in real life, there is Discovery and enjoyment in the act as well as the carnal delight. so these first two leave me hungry for more.

if you read this Skylar, keep them coming!!

anti-heroes with no heroic streak

the heroes of this story great atrocities throughout the story for a greater good that is invalidated by there actions in the very first chapter of the book. The author sins the main characters on a wild goose chase that is totally and utterly unnecessary. it doesn't for the story it doesn't really do anything accept help the main character live out a male power fantasy. the reason for the harem is poorly explained and boring and overall unnecessary and is an executed in a way that is in line with the way human beings think or function in any reality. there's two decent interpersonal relationships between the main character and women in the book one of those characters dies within 20 minutes of meeting them and the other character is basically a meme that the author uses as a plot device occasionally but mostly ignores. almost all the female protagonists are wasted f*** toys for the MC. well written and will read but mostly a bad story I finish the first book and couldn't get through the second book after the second chapter. good luck if you're here for harems the harem isn't done correctly and the sex scenes aren't explicit really. there's much better books for that if that's what you're here for if you're here for space fantasy it's sort of does that well but the characters are so bad that it's not fun.

Great bones, needs some fat.

The characters and plot are interesting, but the story shoots by so fast you don't get to appreciate them. The author really never develops any character depth at all, relying on crude outlines of what each character is without shading or nuance.

Read like a bad d&d campaign

This story felt like it was adapted from one of the authors D&D games. It had horrible pacing and bland characters. When the plot didn't know what to do it tossed in a fight. There was also a lot of forced character backstory moments that didnt fit at all. In conclusion, not worth a credit.

Are we there yet?

incredibly slow, complex, and convoluted. the villains run rings around the "good" guys at every turn. the characters have no depth. the sex comes out of no where... mid-conversation, sex. mid- healing, sex. new female character introduced, sex. there are better series out there, please save yourself. find one.

Nonsensical Science Magic

Even in a magic science universe there needs to be some rules. This story is without them. The space seems 2d and combat almost impossible to follow. There is no explanations given to how powers work nor character capabilities.

This means the story will need to rely on characters and plot. Characters have no depth, they are just archetypes. Story is, well, there but the high stakes nature mumbo jumbo is a bit stupid in a universe with likely unlimited resources, planets and the like.

Such a confused story.
