• A book to write.

• A stage to explore.

• A ghost to avenge.

Rayne is increasingly distracted from working on his book about community theatre. The haunting face of a girl he knew disturbs his nights and days. She was an aspiring actor who never performed on a stage.

She's been dead for five years.

As his publisher's deadline looms, beyond his control, he is producing pages of what seems to be the story of the dead girl's final night on Earth. The urgency of her presence in Rayne's nightmares catapults him into a rudderless obsession. What does this tortured ghost want from him?

The colorful pieces of the mystery's mosaic inexorably assemble bit by bit until an impossible-to-predict denouement transforms Rayne's life forever.

Lee B. Randall must be a genius. The work includes a violent small town murder and its surrounding mystery, valuable insights for anyone interested in the theatre (IMHO all theatre majors should read this), sex, a possible cult connection, the values of art, commerce, and politics (though, thankfully, not too much of the latter), wonderful imagery, native American history, and all blended so well that the work flows without interruption to its amazing climax. Initially I thought the silences between chapters could have been shorter but by the end I appreciated those (very few) extra seconds that allowed what just took place to sink in and settle. Don't rush this one. Live with it and the rewards are great.
