Despite “Stable” being author Cam Torrens’ debut, these characters read like well established, individuals and friends, and bring to the page a well-oiled search and rescue team.

Author Cam Torrens is no stranger to the Colorado landscape and search and rescue operations. As a volunteer himself for the Colorado Chaffee County Search & Rescue team, he brings firsthand experience to the crafting of our main character, Tyler Zahn. In fact, if you look hard enough, you may see some brilliant similarities between the two that lends for an extremely realistic character foundation.

“Stable” begins as a heartwarming story of Tyler Zahn bonding with his daughter, Daria, after six years and miles of heartbreak between the two. However, we quickly learn that Zahn’s work with the local search and rescue team pulls him away despite his well-meaning intentions for a structured and packed visit. But Daria doesn’t seem to mind as she quickly forms a burgeoning friendship after stumbling upon a nearby stable. Conversely to this father/daughter reunion, readers are made aware of a sinister enterprise happening right under this close-knit town’s nose, in a stable of its own. Making “Stable” a most fitting title for this read.

The juxtaposition between the stable of horses that draws Daria into the comfort and friendship this town has to offer, and the stable that hides young girls away, immediately captivates readers and sets their mind running. The action is non-stop as readers are introduced to not one, but two search and rescue operations amongst these pages. From the town to the mountains, activities, and dangers lurking in the trees, “Stable” was such a thrilling ride!

“Stable” is just the first book in the Tyler Zahn series by Cam Torrens, with book two, “False Summit” releasing in October. This kick off to the series, and debut from Torrens, is an immediate race to the finish line, as this story gallops full speed ahead!

Great story with redemption and healing while empowering women and sharing the grace of someone one struggling with losing a child and defending their nation and all that our modern warriors must endure. Thanks cam...looking forward to another tale.

It was an interesting story that kept me guessing. I would like to read more from this author.

I liked the characters, that it kept me guessing as to what would happen next. I also liked that there was not a lot of swearing, graphic sex or violence.

Outstanding

I very much enjoyed this book. Great writing, I was on the edge of seat. Loved the characters and the story. The reader Tim Morgan has a good voice and was easy to listen to. I live in BV and know Cam, congratulations nice work. Can’t wait for next book to come out on audible.

Hidden secrets

Excellent “read” Cam ! So many secrets hidden right beneath our noses in this suspense thriller.

Also as a personal friend of Cam’s from time in the military with my husband, I feel he did a great job of keeping hidden from us what a passion he has for writing. Really great character development and story line based on a real story. Enjoyed the narrator/narration too.

Looking forward to listening to your next book, False Summit.

The story was a believable one

I would’ve liked a different narrator, but I did enjoy the story because it was believable.

not worth the credit

waste of time and far to evangelicals religious, no ot interesting unless you believe. if you are a Christian you can read this pile of crap. the bad guy kidnaps 3 10 year old girls and makes them play with toys while men videotape them, bullsh@t
