Publisher's summary

The comprehensive story of how the Obama administration, Hillary Clinton campaign, and foreign entities tried to sabotage the Trump campaign in the 2016 presidential election.

Everyone has an opinion about whether or not Donald Trump colluded with the Russians to defeat Hillary Clinton in 2016. The number of actors involved is staggering, the events are complicated, and it’s hard to know who or what to believe. Spygate bypasses opinion and brings facts together to expose the greatest political scandal in American history.

Former Secret Service agent and NYPD police officer Dan Bongino joins forces with journalist D.C. McAllister to clear away fake news and show you how Trump’s political opponents, both foreign and domestic, tried to sabotage his campaign and delegitimize his presidency. By following the names and connections of significant actors, the authors reveal:

  • Why the Obama administration sent a spy connected to the Deep State into the Trump campaign
  • How Russians were connected to the opposition research firm hired by the Clinton campaign to find dirt on Trump
  • How the FBI failed to examine DNC computers after they were hacked, relying instead on the findings of a private company connected to the DNC and the Obama administration
  • Why British intelligence played a role in building the collusion narrative
  • What role Ukrainians played in legitimizing the perception that Trump was conspiring with the Russians
  • How foreign players in the two events that kick-started the Trump-Russia collusion investigation were connected to the Clinton Foundation
  • What motivated the major actors who sought to frame the Trump campaign and secure a win for Hillary Clinton

I [quote] Can't Take it [end quote]

The good - This is probably the most intricate and seemingly complete detailing of the Russia-Trump "Collusion" investigation, that I am aware of, to date. It picks apart everything I thought I understood about how the case came to be. It is truly interesting how manipulative people in power can be, how deceptive and devious those working for government are, when they want to be. It should be scary for everyone, even those that are rooting for the investigation to turn up something, anything. You may like the conduct now, but you won't like it when the tides turn and you are on the receiving end. This book is the best way to make it clear that this brand of government and law enforcement conduct, choosing the winners and losers, is so very dangerous for us all.
The bad - sort of - This is so in the weeds with the minutiae of how it all came about, distractions of any kind magnify the interruption (at least for me). If my mind wandered even for a second, I lost track of the tenuous hold I had in understanding what was being said and needed to retrace my steps. This is kind of a good problem to have because it does go to the depth of the detailed information being conveyed.
The ugly - if not down right, SHOW STOPPING, [quote] Make it Stop [end quote] because [quote] it is very distracting [end quote]. I continue [quote] Reading every quote and end quote [end quote] causes much annoyance and distraction for the [quote] reader [end quote]. OK... so you have no idea what that is about? Well, imagine passage after passage, page after page where Dan Bongino who is the author and narrator/reader, actually reads EVERY quote symbol, end quote symbol, and parenthesized entry. My conclusion is that he has seriously and HORRIBLY, to the point of destroying the book, OVERUSED QUOTATIONS. It is possible to overuse quotes when you are writing Informational Text as opposed to a Factual or Official Reports. In some places, he literally quotes and end quotes 1 word separated by a word and then quotes one or 2 more words e.g.: The writer [quote] CLAIMS [end quote] it's [quote] necessary and justified [end quote] to use peoples actual words in order to [quote] add credibility [end quote] to the text. - That is my own made up sentence because I couldn't stand the thought of actually quoting one of his. When you overuse quotations to stress a single word or to take the place of the incredulous eye roll, you risk breaking up your flow and taking away from our own observations or points of the text. It is ESPECIALLY not good in an AUDIO BOOK. Use inflection and pauses if you must, but DO NOT READ PUNCTUATION.

So in depth, unbelievable journalistic research!

Dan Bongino his one out of the park with this book. The maze of deception he unwinds is both mind boggling and scarey. It's a must read!

Lots and lots of details

This book is chocked full of information that should place many of the Clinton campaign team behind bars. At the very least, it should exonerate President Trump. A bit hard to follow with all of the quotes, but I understand that it was necessary. Perhaps for the sequel you’ll resort to a different method. Great information. Thanks for putting in all of the hard work to produce this book.

a not so soft coup still in process

the deep state is real and these people involved in it will do anything to save their own skins and not be exposed. it's unfortunate that the department of Justice as well as both houses of Congress have been so blinded by partisanship that they're willing to ignore crimes based upon party lines. this book exposes all of them and should be used as massive amounts of evidence against them at their criminal trials. bongino is the best.

Great synopsis of an American Conspiracy

An outstanding book! It takes a criminal investigator like Dan Bongino to put the facts together in a relevant and coherent way. You are a great American Dan Bongino!

Dan lays it out like a buffet in Vegas

The twists and ties of the nasty evil DC corruption during the lawless Obummer years with Kills at the SOS helm and the other dull tools bungling US security are nicely presented by Bongino. In his raw gritty way, Dan gives it to you with less ADD and side tracks than his show but with just as much heart and soul. This is a MUST read and use to teach your kids & grands TRUTHFUL history to counteract the Lib take over of the education system. Thanks Dan!

Bongino is way ahead...

Why am I still hearing "news" on the cable channels that Dan has published months ago...and figured out about a year ago? His perspective as a former federal prosecutor is uniquely his, and like a spear finding it's target, he gets to the truth and motivations behind the worst scandal in U.S. history and why EVERYONE (Democrats, SwampRat Republicans, the DoJ, FBI and their savior Robert Mueller) need to cover it up before President Trump exposes the incredible extent of lawbreaking during the Obama administration. I read the book partially, but listening to Dan read it on audible (twice!) is the densest, most comprehendible, connected network of facts on the entirety of the scandal - I'm still finishing the sentences of the nightly network/cable news anchors and their breathless "breaking" news. If you want to understand this scandal, this is where to start...and finish. Lastly, God bless Rep. Devin Nunes, Rep. Jim Jordan and the other that have put their neck on the line to get evidence into the public domain, if only we had a government that was a reflection of these true heros and statesmen.

Many details

I like the Dan read his own book and it certainly showed how detailed this situation is. It’s important to know a little bit about the situation before you read the book I think

Nice, but non-full-filling!

I enjoy the ‘Dan Bongino Show Podcast’,
He informs and educates there.
I’d hoped for better, on the book/audio.
I’m still left, with questions about, many of the players and their role!!!
In fairness, this debacle is still going on!!
Perhaps, we will learn together, when names like -
Obama, Power, Lynch, and McCain, become public?!?!?!?
Obama’s Administration, will likely go down in history, as the MOST CORRUPT, in history!
I thought, the book/audio would-
Make that clear...It missed, slightly!!!
If I missed that, then-
I missed it!!!
I know he will continue to shed light, on his Podcast!!!
Many , need to be, brought to justice-
In order to, regain faith in OUR intelligence services and Country!!!
