Publisher's summary

Julianne Baker seemingly has it all. Working for a nationally published nature and gardening magazine in Manhattan and leading a glamorous life in the Big Apple...or is she?

Julianne returns to her hometown of Lilac Glen, Georgia to dig into an article on family-based nurseries and floral businesses; something she already knows plenty about after growing up surrounded by her family's floral shop and greenhouses. Going back home down south isn't something Julianne gets to do often.

While there, she meets Tucker Case; a handsome investor and real estate manager who is trying to fit in as a farm owner in the town he now calls home after inheriting the picturesque land from his uncle, making him the Bakers' neighbor. As days get longer, and spring starts to reawaken, will flowers be all that bloom?

Join Julianne as she opens her heart to new adventures while learning to take life a little slower down back roads; bending with the curves instead of against them.

Please note that minimal changes have been made since the audiobook's recording that you may notice if following along with a visual copy, including a minor character's mention's name from Colin to Kevin.

Would you listen to Spring in Lilac Glen again? Why?

Yes. It's a feel good romance without the need to go into the bedroom to be romantic.

Who was your favorite character and why?

loved them all. I related to Julianne's mom, to be honest, and found her to be a kindred spirit.

What does Essie Heart bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?

a sweet mix of range in voices and styles. endearing...

Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?

I don't want to give away spoilers...so I'll just say...there were a few spots that were funny and parts that were heartwarming.

Any additional comments?

Spring in Lilac Glen

Julianne Baker seems to have it all but really she is struggling just like most of the rest of us. A couple of missed paychecks and shes going to be in trouble. Although to everyone looking in she lives in New York and everyone in New York is glamorous and rich. Her new job assignment is to return home and interview her parents and some other local business owners and take lots of pictures. Except while she is on location at her parents she meets a man and her work nemesis is after her job putting it in jeopardy. This is a sweet romantic story. Essie does a nice job on the narration.

Refreshingly Sweet ...

Spring in Lilac Glen is a refreshing look at days gone by and life yet lived. Julianne and Tucker have lessons to learn, hopes to fulfill and a happily ever after to discover. Faith and promise is delivered with sweet words of wisdom. The little nuggets that we know to be true, but neglect to acknowledge. The perfect way to relax on a hot summer day.

Cute

This was a cute story overall.

The narrator spoke fast and it was hard to tell when the story would break. I like her voice and her portrayal of the characters though.

It was a little slow pretty much the whole way through and then the twist came right at the end.

The epilogue was adorable though.

So sweet

Spring in Lilac Glen is a sweet and clean romance that is appropriate for teens on up, in my opinion. The storyline is fresh and has a nice pace and the characters are realistic and well developed. The narrator has a pleasant voice that is spot on for this book and her performance is nicely done.

Such a sweet book

I must admit that this story was delightful. it is refreshing to have an author that can deliver a book book that reads so easily without all the naughty bits. Dont get me wrong some books require the naughty. But it's so great like cleansing your palette whenever an author provides the public with innocent reading. this story was a pleasure to read and i really enjoyed it. the narrator was easy to listen to. I highly recommend this book to you all. I did in fact recieve this book for free in exchange for a honest review.
