I've recommended it to many colleagues and clients

As sports lover with a psychology degree, I immediately grabbed this book when I saw its availability. I was ecstatic when I saw a professional psychologist and writer take sports and behavioral science to a level that I never seen others do before. The book was extremely well done, in terms of its research, writing style and information. The writers took familiar, popular psychology studies and mixed it with lesser-known research to weave a tale of various behavioral themes and theories that apply to sports. Not only were they able to do this successfully, but they did it in a way that was fun, humorous, and extraordinarily enlightening. This is a book that every sports fan should read -- and any psychology student would appreciate as well!

What was one of the most memorable moments of Mind Gym?

I think this book serves a valuable purpose in providing short punchy inspirational essays. The chapters are packaged very neatly and the author does an admirable job of creating an easy to listen book.

Any additional comments?

On that level, I think Mind Gym is a success and achieves its objective. While my book is written in an entirely different style, I did benefit from tightening up some of the chapters. I recommend Mind Gym for the message and delivery.

A great book from a great author

Mind Gym is one of my favorite books to pickup whenever I need a little inspiration and encouragement. While the many stories and quotes are derived from the world of professional athletics, the book is really about creating excellence in one's life with applicability to any pursuit and any profession. The main theme is that once one reaches a certain level of competency, the level he achieves in performance will be determined by how well he learns to utilize his mind. With this, the author takes us on a fascinating tour of the minds of some of the world's greatest coaches and athletes; their successes, their challenges, and the mental tools they employed to succeed. To borrow a line from the book, "it takes years of hard work to become an overnight success", Mind Gym is an excellent coach along the way.
