Made my yearly reading list!

This is an excellent book on spiritual disciplines. I stumbled on to it a few years back and have quite enjoyed the newer version as well as the ability to listen and read the same book! the audio version of this book is well produced and by having a copy of the physical book I can hunt down the quotations as my brain latches on to them as they are being read in my ears.

There is so much encouragement in the pages of this book for the Christian new or old. Some of my favorite chapters are on Scripture Reading, Prayer and Fasting. Excellent read/listen.

if you are new to Christ or been saved for 50 years, this is a great book to teach or remind.

Great Book, Mid Reading

I really enjoyed this book. The author wrote it in a way that there was much to take and apply, and put it into simple terms how to discipline myself for Christ-sake. However, the reading was wildly vast in speeds. Some chapters could take 2.5x speed, but would randomly need to be put down to 1.9x speed to avoid not understanding. Voice is okay, emotion is great, but the varying reading speed made it insufferable to read along without speeding up and slowing down over and over,
