The prevailing attitude of We the People is: anything goes, if it feels good, do it. Concerns over inappropriate attitudes, actions, and speech etc., do not even seem to be at the forefront of American culture any longer, not to mention our own personal thought processes. Our nation as a whole has seemingly lost the ability to feel any shame or remorse over our slide into immorality, much to our detriment. What is the source and cause behind the spiritual darkness that is invading not only the Church, but also America at large? Whether or not one believes in God makes no difference at all, this darkness that hangs over America is like an inky black cloud approaching right before the storm really lets loose its destructive power. America as a whole is headed for a fall of apocalyptic proportions if things in this country do not change, and change very soon.
The secular world has largely done away with God while at the same time, the teachings of Islam are embraced and supported. Islam is taught in public schools, while even the mention of Christ in the public-school setting is frowned upon. After School Satan is ok, but a Bible study is not. Public prayer or the teaching of the Gospel can even get one fined or jailed. Many of our nations leaders (especially the Democrats) seem to be little better than common criminals. Illegals are allowed to pour into this nation mostly unchecked as the border is/was wide open in many places. Crime and murder rates are going up, and cities are becoming more and more violent. Abortion is widely accepted, even by many in the Church – even abortion right up to and including the day of birth or even after the birth of the baby.
When did the Church stop believing in the Jesus of the Bible?
The Church widely believes outright lies, and false doctrine is prevalent throughout many churches. Doubts about the truth of the Bible are common, many do not even know what sin is, and Hell is a fairy tale that is not to be believed. How many understand what the Gospel is and what its message is? How many in the Church know how one is saved? How many can actually communicate the truth of the Gospel to others? The answers to these questions may surprise you.
How did America change so drastically from years ago? What happened to bring us to the point we are at today – where it seems like anything goes, including full-term abortion, same-sex marriage, transgenderism, social media censoring, extreme media bias, and doxing, just to name a few.
How has America reached the point where truth is whatever the particular individual decides it is? Is there really any such thing as absolute truth?
Why is there so much violence, so much darkness, so much apathy, and such a widespread indifference to what is happening in the America of today?
How does what is happening in the secular world – culture, politics, government, and entertainment, among other things tie in with the prolific devastation of the Church, and what can we do about it to bring about the healing of America as a whole, while also regaining God’s favor?
Is there any path forward through the chaos so that America and the Church can be healed? The short answer to all of this is yes, and that answer requires that We the People, those who believe in God as well as those who do not – all of us need to turn or return to God, truly repenting of our sins and receiving His forgiveness. Without God, there can be no healing of this nation as a whole.
“If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land.” 2 Chronicles 7:14
