Spider-Man: The Darkest Hours

Peter Parker's life has hit a peaceful stretch. No evildoers have tried to flatten him in weeks, his marriage to Mary Jane is stronger than ever, and he's enjoying his job as a high-school science teacher. Life is good. Naturally, that doesn't last.

When Peter learns that his old enemy, the Rhino, is on a rampage in Times Square, he suits up as Spider-Man to stop the destructive villain in his tracks. But he's unexpectedly foiled in his attempts by the Black Cat, a former ally and old flame. The Cat informs Peter that the Rhino is just a distraction - the real threat comes from a group of Ancients, members of the same race as the being called Morlun, who Spidey defeated in battle years earlier. The Ancients are now looking to exact revenge - and hope to steal Spider-Man's life force in the process.

To defeat such powerful beings, Spider-Man is going to need all the help he can get, especially from the Black Cat. But what will Mary Jane Parker have to say about that? Peter isn't sure which is worse - the Ancients trying to drain his life force or the wrath of a jealous wife....

good story not alot of action

This was more of a story about a guy named Peter Parker than Spider-Man. there's a lot of build up to emphasize how strong his upcoming adversary will be and I feel like it missed the part where we wanted to see how spiderman stops day to day crimes. it's was as if no crimes were happening while he was going through his ordeal. only crimes that pertain to the books villain#

Jim Butcher is the man

I’m love Jim’s Dresden books and this was great as well. Wasn’t sure what spin he was going to take but it was a good one. Five stars all day!

Exactly what I expected from the author of the Dresdin Files. Enjoyed every moment of it.

Reader was great for Peter and Butcher writes one hell of a story. so worth it!

This is my first superhero novel type book and boy did I make a great choice in picking this one . An excellent story line that keeps you engaged from start to finish and flushes out other sides of known characters in both the Marvel and the spider man universe specifically. Now I’m on the hunt for other similar books ( hopefully from the same author ) .

Definitely recommended.
