Publisher's Summary

When Killian Barth, history professor, meets Blaine Genneau, quantum physicist, they ignite their own big bang. But Killian can’t pursue a physics professor - or a human. As the most powerful male witch in 10 generations, Killian must bolster his dying race by reproducing - despite the fact that he’s gay.

Even a fling with Blaine is out of the question, because Killian has been told sex with humans drains his power. But if that’s true, why can young human Jimmy Janx dissolve spoons with the power of his mind? If Killian can sort through the lies he’s been fed, he’ll still face his biggest obstacle - convincing rational scientist Blaine to believe in magic.

With his ancient and powerful cat familiar, Aloysius, on his shoulder, Killian brings the lightning against deceit and greed to save Blaine from danger and prove love is the greatest power of them all.

Such fun

I love Tara Lanes writing. She brings a brightness and whimsicality to her stories and characters. The narrator has a nice tone but his accents can be distracting. Over all worth a read.

Wish fulfillment times ten ….

So, ok, once in a while, I just really like a totally easy going, wish fulfillment, happily ever after, triumph over the old guard, shake off the bad guys, and win the day, the beloved, and the admiration of all. This one has it in spades.

Boy was I wrong!

I passed this book up several
Times. Then I saw it was in the romance packet and left it in my cute for a month. After listening to it. I could kick myself. This was a great story. Narrator couldn’t pull a women’s voice off for shitz. But for real it was definitely worth listening to and one of the best spell casting novels I have read since wolfsong. Please give it a try and I’m sure you will give it two thumbs up.

Narrator uncomfortable, story needs more development

The story had plenty of time to show us developing feelings, maybe a date, some fun time at movies or a concert, something. Instead it was mostly sex. Yet the secondary couple had some development. Still, it is what one expects from Lain, so we can’t say we didn’t know what we’d be getting. I found it kinda sweet but lacking.

Narrator was not for me at all. Weak, weird, and wandering accents.

A Purrrfect Cat's Tale

This was a surprisingly enjoyable listen - simple and light hearted with enough drama and magic to hold my attention.
