This Story Is Sexy

Publisher's Summary

Netflix news! The 44 Chapters About 4 Men series is being adapted into a steamy Netflix dramedy series called Sex/Life, coming soon!

Because BB Easton had so much fun writing her best-selling, award-winning memoir, 44 Chapters About 4 Men, she decided to give each of her four men his own steamy stand-alone. Speed is Harley's book - a gritty, 90s-era love triangle overflowing with dark humor, intense heat, and tangible teen angst. It is based on a true story.

Ronald "Knight" McKnight was obsessive. Possessive. Downright psychopathic. But that didn't stop me from falling in love with him...or falling apart when he joined the Marines. When he left, Knight told me to "find someone better", but I didn't.

I found Harley instead.

Harley James was a fun, flirty, tattooed mechanic whose face was as angelic as his secrets were sinful. He taught me how to live again. How to laugh again. But would he teach me how to love again?

Over Knight's dead body.

Speed is book two in the 44 Chapters About 4 Men spin-off series but can be listened to as a complete stand-alone.

Love Love Loved this story

This series just keeps getting better and better. Speed is Book 2 in the 44 Chapters about 4 Men series and this book gives us Harley and BB's story after Knight leave and tells BB to find someone better than him. Let my say here that I loved Knight from the very first book and I loved him in this story as well. I continue to be #TeamKnight however BB Easton was able to have me loving Harley at certain times throughout the story.
This novel was hilarious and amusing and I could not stop myself from laughing out. However there were times the story got a bit emotional and I loved that this author was able to evoke different emotion from me.
This book was again narrated by Ramona Masters who continues to be a boss narrating this story. I love her voice and the way she is able to portray a young BB is so believable and fun you will not want to put this book down. I was hooked from start to finish and I loved every minute of it.
Speed is a phenomenal story and worthy of more than 5 stars. I absolutely loved it and I would highly recommend it.

Total Fangirl for BB Easton!

Okay so I don’t know how to go into my review without sounding like a total fangirl but you know what? I don’t give a flying fig newton!!! I finished SPEED at like 1:00ish this morning (lack of sleep at the moment while at work but totally effin’ worth it!). So here goes my badass/fangirling review:
OH. MY. GOD. There’s my review…just kidding! No but seriously, holy crap! How is it that BB Easton is able to make me fall in love Knight from SKIN only to make me shamelessly cheat (emotionally) on him with Harley? Well I don’t know because she kinda made me do just that.
Although, for some odd reason (not really odd but for a reason I will not share because some things are better kept as a secret) I’ve fallen even more in love (emotionally) with Knight after reading SPEED (insert agonizing/tear sad face here) BUT that’s not what my review will be about. I will leave Knight (oh God Knight) behind because well I met Harley and well I was blinded by this man. This dirty, dirty greased up, muscle galore, fine ass, where-the-hell-have-you-been man. Because well, after every heartbreak you need a Harley in your life for a moment, right? I’m no different than the next warm blooded woman who needs someone like Harley after my heart has been torn to shreds, to give me something, anything to fill that void (even if it’ll be one of those lesson learned kind of moments).
Ugh, sorry I’m blabbing about my shit, let me talk more about SPEED and how it literally had me cheering for BB the whole time (a real badass!) because shit, after SKIN, BB needed me cheering and shouting “ya girl do it!”, until of course I was left with some mouth hanging open, heart racing (& girly parts tingling) moments with the hot savage of a man Harley. You need to read SPEED and get acquainted with that sexy bastard. I feel a small connection with Harley because he reminded me of my first. My first was a Puerto Rican pot head and well I can’t even say he was my first love though, great lay, always kept me smiling and thinking of good things and gave me the attention I wanted but of course that was all a front to his cheating (insert eye roll because I’m over it). I’d like to believe that every teenage girl has experienced that breakup only to find herself with a Harley, right?
Ugh anyways, back to BB’s SPEED – definitely a rollercoaster ride of good times, crazy teenage moments, raging hormones, and okay I will mention it because I won’t lie but I’ve thought of it on some level, but wow Davidson (insert eye wink), I’d let that little voyager on my couch any day! We do meet a newbie, “Goth Girl” aka Victoria and yes still friends with our lovely, no bullshit, straight to the ugly truth mom Juliet.
BB nails it with SPEED where it counts, my freakin’ core! No really. What matters is that she nails it (also made me glassy eyed okay fine I did tear up and let one out in the last chapter) and I seriously don’t know what I did to deserve it but I'm truly honored to have received this awesome ass ARC! I cannot wait to read about Hans and I’m slowly dying for Ken, the man, the man that every man on this God forsaken planet should strive to be like! F*ck yes and 5 stars for BB Easton’s SPEED!

Great fun, captivating ride

Speed was another great read by B.B. Easton. This is book two in the 44 Chapters series. This book follows BB's relationship with Harley, a mechanic who got with her after her failed relationship with Knight. I thought this book was extremely captivating. I can't wait to read the rest of this series.

SPEED

I am enjoying the ride. Girl, you attract trouble! I laughed, felt sad and so angry at times. Question were all parents unfit to be parents? Don't get me wrong, the entertainment was there, but you hung out with damaged people. My heart went out to these kids. Knight continued to part of your life. On my way to the next book!

My Two Pennies

I love Ramona Master and her narration. The way she portrays BB I can totally see it and you can feel that there’s a passion behind her work. LADY LADY LADY, damn Speed is a MUST READ!!! I loved 44 Chapters and then BB decided to give the men their own full length stories and I was consumed with Knight now we are given Harley's story and holy smokes I the race was on because I never wanted to put this book down. Three way love triangle had my jaw dropped Im still totally #TeamKnight but Harley won me over from time to time. This woman is unstoppable and unpredictable with the events that take place and the decisions made. My mind was just blown. Another incredible story has been shared with us through the eyes and mind of BB. Im dying to know whats happens in the future and cannot wait for more. This is my unbiased and voluntary review.

Knight...Harley...Lady love🔺

Speed takes us on a journey through BB’s life after Knight enlisted in the marines. While continuing her search to fit in BB meets Harley shortly after Knight left town.

The narrator transitioned through the female characters voices well. Ramona Master’s feminine voice was great for the female characters, but the male voices didn’t carry over as well. I prefer audio books to use both male and female voices. BB’s voice was narrated exactly how I pictured a sixteen year old would sound. It was spunky and enthusiastic.
Harley’s voice was supposed to sound dark and sexy, yet it was dry and raspy. He sounded stoned all the time. The transition between male characters was hard to distinguish. If BB hadn’t stated who was speaking I would have assumed every character was Harley.

BB attracted older bad guys with sinful habits. She was still impulsive and spontaneous. BB has low standards for attracting guys. In this case, BB needed an escape from Knight and Harley was fun. BB’s biggest problems in life were making curfew, not getting pregnant, trying not to catch an STD, and whose house to sleep at. BB lived a colorful life of sex, drugs, and drinking. It was all about looking cool and fitting in no matter the consequences. The only consequences that mattered were her parents concern for her curfew.

BB went from a broken guy to a bad guy. Her standards in guys hadn’t improved much. BB was too forgiving and easy going with naivety. She and these characters were shameless.
I realized early on I’m not the intended audience for this type of book. I’m hardly concerned with the trivial teenage problems of these characters. When BB Easton stated this was based loosely on a true story I was intrigued. Instead I found limited to no connection with these characters. Between the dialogue, partying, and casual sexual encounters I couldn’t establish a reason for her random acts of carelessness.

Heartbreaking!

I was an emotional wreck throughout this book. It’s like looking at a car crash at the side of the road that you can’t turn away from. With Knight still in the picture this love triangle is heartbreaking. I love Knight even more now and BB is so caring. It’s so much more than teenage angst and I was heartbroken at times. It’s a wild ride for BB as she survives the mine field that is adolescence. I can’t wait to start the next book in the series.

love the series

It took me a while to write a review as this was my first audiobook but after listening to a few more different books, I realised how good the narrator of this one was.
I was always a BB Easton fan, so I knew I would love the story, so that didn't dissapoint!
