Speculator entertains and makes you think

Great story. Very hard to put down.
The characters were all exceedingly well described and I am really in a hurry to see where the author goes with them, as the series continues.
Please don't make us wait too long Mr. Casey.
You have a great talent for describing the world that exists beneath the perceptions of those who think that reading the newspaper is the way to know what is going on in the world.

loved it!

One of my new favorite books, fictional yet extremely relevant to today's societal climate. I place it in high esteem among some of my other favorites such as Atlas Shrugged and 1984.

My Favorite Modern Fiction Book

I thoroughly enjoyed this book. It's pace was perfect and I was on the edge of my seat. It is well narrated. It is rare that I listen to a book in such a short time.

The libertarian commentary might be off putting for some but I enjoyed it and at times it was implemented in a comical way.

I don't recall learning so much from a fictional book before. I learned some things about anatomy, speculation, mining companies, and found myself googling concepts I was unfamiliar with. It is the first time I encountered the term "Gamma Male".

Fantastic story and great narrator!

This book definitely exceeded my expectations. I love how well it blended deep economic and political themes with rich characters and a lot of action and intrigue. It was both entertaining and educational all the way to the end.

Sex, guns, gold, politics, money, and most importantly, great philosophy!.....what's not to like?

I've listened to a lot of books on audible, but this is the first one that I was truly sad when it was finished. I can't wait for the next one.

Props to the narrator too, I never had to guess what character was speaking. Multi-accent, multi-tone, great job!

Highly recommend to everyone, but I think freedom loving/liberty minded individuals/investors who reject collectivism will enjoy it most!

Cheers!

dougs first swing at fiction

if your familiar with Doug Caseys thinking through other writings this will be familiar ground as its all over the place, sometimes even trying too hard imho. The story is not bad with some intrigue, but char dev is a bit weak most of them being one dimensional making whole story less engaging. Still its a worthwhile chill listen with some useful refs

Great Read - starting the next book right away

A really fun story, and an entertaining way to talk about some of the more depressing topics on today’s political and regulatory landscape.

Epilogue of veracity and reality in dystopia

Doug Casey a prophet of veracity and beacon of hope in convoluted and distorted world. He has put niche of speculation in lucidity and speculator definitely is a joyous jaunt of education in the world of economy, trading, mining and liberty beyond chicanery of the contemporary orders.

Boring Fiction

I wasn't looking for a fictional work when I bought this book. That said, I just found it long and boring.

My new #1 favourite series!!

What an amazing series! The authors have created a very strong and admirable character, like Howard Rourke from The Fountainhead, then placed him in the middle of a James Bond-like thriller in Africa. This would be a great book for young people to start learning about business, economics, philosophy, relationships, and just a solid broad perspective of the world in general. I cannot wait for the next 4 books to be released now.

A Great Story!

I was definitely hooked on this story. Just like a book you can't put down I could not stop listening. A great story! The lessons that are taught are so valuable and can be implemented within your own life. The perfect combination of a fictional novel, a stock market book, and a life coach book. If you like investing, in finance as well as in yourself. Look no further.
The gentleman who read the book also did a fantastic job, switching between masculine and feminine tones as well as various accents, creating a vast soundscape of congruent characters. I can't wait to listen to the next book. Enjoy!
