Stand-alone, second-chance, single-dad, rock star romance

From New York Times best-selling author S.L. Scott comes a new book that will introduce you to rock stars with heart and soul.

One break is all The Crow Brothers need, and we’re about to get it. Johnny Outlaw, rock legend and lead singer of The Resistance, is here to watch us play. But he’s not the only familiar face in the crowd - killer little body, heart-shaped face, and drop-dead gorgeous. Hannah Nichols sitting at the bar makes it hard to concentrate with sparks already reigniting. The beauty was never a groupie, and tonight she’s not here to catch our show. She came to drop a bomb. “You have a son.” She underestimated me. I’ll prove to my son, and her, that I can be the dad he needs.

What is it about musicians? Why are they so damn sexy? My heart was Jet Crow’s the moment he opened his sexy mouth and sang that first song. One stolen night with that man would never be enough, but I’m not here to fall into his bed. Again. I’m here to fight for custody of a son he’s never known. There’s just one problem. Those sparks between us have become flames. If we’re not careful, we’re both going to get burned.

Surprise!

Oh Jet, this is how every man should react when they find out they are a father.
It was no fault of his own that he didn’t know about him but when he does he really steps up and I love this.

Hannah was just ok for me, I felt like the author put a lot on her shoulders and it weighed her down. I wanted to root for her but I just didn’t think she could pull through. I don’t know maybe it was to make Jet shine more?

Alfie stole the show! I loved this kid, he was wise for his age and probably to perceptive but most kids are. I liked that we get him throughout the book and that the author never forgets him in a scene as many do.

Overall I enjoyed the book I like the timeline nothing felt like insta-love, thank goodness. I really enjoyed the narration and the dual pov’s that helped me enjoy the book. I mean SebYo, of course, it was going to be great and Ava sure brings her character's emotions.

The Big Encompassing You

Overall 4.5 stars

Story 4 stars

I really enjoyed this emotional rock star romance! It was much more heartfelt and poignant than I anticipated. It really highlighted the importance of timing in life and the bonds of family (by blood or by choice). Yes, there's an instant attraction between Jet and Hannah, but both can feel that they are on the precipice of something much more incredible than one night of sex. When they meet again months later, and under much different circumstances, what gradually develops between them is more organic and natural. It only made me root for their happily ever after even harder.

I loved seeing Jet move into the role of father to Alfie. It's not a huge stretch considering his relationship with his own brothers and family history, but it was still beyond sweet. He goes all in, just as he does with Hannah, and readers/listeners everywhere are still swooning. Hannah's past has been traumatic to say the least and has really altered her sense of self. Seeing her blossom again with the help of Jet and Alfie was wonderful and this story was as much a love story between her and Jet as it was between Hannah and herself. The real scene stealer though is Alfie. He's magic every time and oh so adorable. He is wise beyond his years, but still has that childlike wonder. I loved his relationship with Tulsa and he brought a straight forward honesty to the story that only children can bring. It's his new found relationship with Jet that is the cornerstone of the book.

The narration by Sebastian York and Ava Erickson was fantastic and they were incredible together. York has the amazing ability to not only voice the strong, sexy alpha hero, but he can also perform female and children wonderfully as well. I can't think of a better narrator to bring Jet Crow to life. Erickson was equally incredible as Hannah, and she really captured all the anguish, heartache, and vulnerability of the character so well. This is my first time listening to an audiobook narrated by her, but it certainly won't be my last!

The Crow Brothers have definitely piqued my interest and I can't wait to read/listen to their stories as well. I'm especially intrigued by the middle Crow brother, River. He's much more reserved and quiet compared to Tulsa, and his tender moment with Jet at the end gives us some bread crumbs about where his story is going. I'm also interested to learn more about the honorary Crow brother, Dave. I feel like we've only scratched the surfaced on his story. I definitely enjoyed this one a lot!

Too much internal dialog

The first third of this book was okay, and I had hopes that it would develop into more. It didn't. A couple of reveals appeared, but they did not amount to much. The internal dialog of the characters went on and on. I made myself finish listening, but it wasn't worth the time

Love The Crow Brothers!

What a great start to The Crow Brothers series. Hannah was looking for a distraction from the heartbreaking events in her life. Sexy musician, Jet, provided that and so much more. Jet fell hard for the woman with sad eyes. He wanted more than one night of passion, but woke to an empty bed. Now months later Hannah returns to reveal that he has a son he never knew he had with her deceased cousin and she will fight him for custody. Jet still wants Hannah, but now he wants his son even more. Jet will do whatever it takes to prove he is more than an irresponsible musician. He wants to love and protect the adorable son he missed so much time with, and win Hannah's heart as well. Hannah is stuck between lies she has been told and the sexy, kind, and caring man she fell for months earlier. She loves her nephew and wants what's best for him without having her heart broken again by another musician. This heartfelt, sweet and sexy romance is brought to life beautifully by talented narrators, Sebastian York, and Ava Erickson. Erickson embodied Hannah's strength, resilience, and vulnerability flawlessly. York was exceptional as he brought out the range of emotions that Jet experienced as he struggled with life changes, always wanting to be the caretaker for those he loves. Both narrators have a wonderful range of voices and expression that I love to get lost in and make this story even better. I really enjoyed all the Crow brothers and can't to wait to listen to their stories next!

Perfect rockstar romance

Wonderfully written with just enough twists to not be predictable and even had me tearing up a time or two. The narration is perfection and the stem is amazing!

Let this audio spark your earbuds

Book 1 in the series. There is not enough words I can write about this story .

Hero is Johnny Outlaw of the rock band the Crow Brothers. Heroine is Hannah.
Hannah meets a Johnny at a gig that the crow brothers are doing . There is physically attraction right from the time their eyes locked . After one night of hot passion they go their way .
A while later Hannah approaches Johnny because her cousin passed and there is a son . The son is Johnnys . Johnny at first doesn’t believe it. But after a while it makes sense .
Hannah aunt is trying to keep Johnny from his son . Hannah is torn but as kings come together , Hannah takes a stand against her aunt . Thing is Hannah cousin wrote some things in her diary that involves Johnny , Hannah’s aunt is trying to find the missing pieces. Court dates are set to see if Johnny should see his son at all
Grab it and see are the missing pieces found. Who wins the court day

Ava and SebYo are a dream together. The tone of their voices , doing all the characters are strong, smooth and clear

Rockstar Romance

I enjoyed this book. Loved the narrators.

This is an interesting story. Jet Crow and his brothers are an up-and-coming band that is about to get a break. Hannah has a one night stand with Jet, and she leaves an impression on him - he can’t stop thinking about her. He sees her again, and she is harboring a secret. Can he get past the shock of what seeing her again and what it means? Will it affect the band’s big break? Can Hannah get past what has happened to her in previous relationships?

I am definitely looking forward to books about Jet’s brothers.

I enjoyed this book. Ava and Sebastian did awesome with narration! This is probably not a book I would have chosen on my own, but it totally drew me in. Has a little of everything. Loved Jet and Hannah.
