For me this book was a gift!

Would you consider the audio edition of Spacehounds of IPC to be better than the print version?

Since I've never read the print version I have to say the audio version was certainly superior.

What other book might you compare Spacehounds of IPC to and why?

Easily compared to Triplanetary and others of the Lensman series.

What does Harry Shaw bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?

I was initially disappointed that Reed McColm was not narrating this book since I've come to associate his voice with any E.E. Doc Smith book. However, after about 30 minutes or so I found that Shaw's reading was VERY similar to McColm's and I thoroughly enjoyed his narration.

If you were to make a film of this book, what would the tag line be?

Space Opera...Started HERE!

Any additional comments?

My headline for this review "For me this book was a gift!" is the only way I can describe finding this audio book. Over the years I've listened to the entire Skylard and Lensman series many times. I've also read the print versions many times before my vision started to make reading print difficult. Until recently I've never seen the Spacehounds book anywhere and assumed I would never be able to read it...so this was my gift. With the appearance of Spacehounds I'm now hoping that the Subspace books will also get recorded to audio since those also will be ...for me...gifts. Thank you Audible!

It’s different

Definitely a departure from the writers normal storytelling style, but it feels like it’s in the same universe and it’s good enough for me to want to read again. I like it.

Not the writer's best work

I love E doc Smith's other works the lyndsman series the skylark series or ticks blasters but this one it wasn't all that great it's not up to his normal standard to my opinion
