Story
In 1982, at the age of just 23 and halfway through her architecture studies, Elspeth Beard left her family and friends in London and set off on a 35,000-mile solo adventure around the world on her 1974 BMW R60/6. Reeling from a recent breakup and with only limited savings from her pub job, a tent, a few clothes, and some tools, all packed on the back of her bike, she was determined to prove herself. She had ridden bikes since her teens and was well-traveled. But nothing could prepare her for what lay ahead.

Story
On October 6, 1973, Ted Simon knew there was no going back. He loaded up his 500cc Triumph Tiger in the pouring rain and said good-bye to London. Over four years he rode 64,000 miles round the world. Breakdowns, revolutions, war, a spell in prison, and a Californian commune were all part of his experience, which was colored variously by utter despair and unimaginable joy. He was treated as a spy, a god, a welcome stranger and a curiosity

Story
There are times when sitting on the couch in front of the TV seems infinitely preferable to rolling the motorbike out of the garage for a ride or putting the boots on to go for a hike, yet it’s rare that one regrets the effort. In this collection of motorcycling road trips, garage misadventures, bike reviews, and reminiscences, I try to convey my joy of riding, even when things don’t always work out perfectly. Life is short. The time is now. Do it while you still can.

When Ted Simon rode 64,000 miles round the world on his 500c Triumph Tiger, he inspired thousands of motorcyclists to begin their own adventures, including Ewan McGregor and Charley Boorman, who chronicled their travels in Long Way Round. Nearly 30 years later, Ted Simon took to the road again to retrace the epic journey he made in his 40s. He meets up with old friends and acquaintances, revisits old landmarks and locations, and rediscovers himself, as well as the world, along the way.

Story
David Mixson, author of the Motorcycle Smarts book series and NASA engineer, debunks the myth that crashing is a matter of fate by explaining the most important topics that other motorcycle mega-books gloss over. Riders die every day in these rider-induced crashes - and it doesn't have to be this way. Mastering the art of riding a motorcycle well is about understanding and overcoming rider fear. It's about understanding why riders crash so you can avoid making the same mistakes. It's about taking ownership of your riding safety.

What better way to explore them than by riding 40-year-old Italian motorbikes, famous for their dodgy electrics and sparse dealer network? Forty-year-old bikes, aged rider, thousands of kilometers of virtually unserviced empty roads in the middle of bear-, wolf-, and blackfly-infested wilderness - what could possibly go wrong?

Story
Thirty five concerts. Seventeen thousand motorcycle miles. Three months. One lifetime. In May 2015 the veteran Canadian rock trio Rush embarked on their 40th anniversary tour, R40. For the band and their fans, R40 was a celebration and, perhaps, a farewell. But for Neil Peart, each tour is more than just a string of concerts; it's an opportunity to explore backroads near and far on his BMW motorcycle. So if this was to be the last tour and the last great adventure, he decided it would have to be the best one, onstage and off.

Publisher's Summary
Losing her job was an opportunity, not a tragedy.
Fresh off of a nine-month journey, camping off her 2015 Yamaha FZ-07 sport bike through 49 US states and three provinces of Canada, Tiffani Burkett wasn’t ready to return to a nine-to-five. She had picked up a freelance gig as a motorcycle journalist, she had met someone, and she still had a little bit of her dwindling life savings left in the bank.
Naturally, the only logical course of action was to to set her sights toward the next set of landlocked states in North America: Mexico. Despite growing up in Los Angeles, she had never been south of the border, didn't speak any Spanish (except for the swear words she learned in high school), and even without the recent political unrest, it seemed that everyone had plenty of stories to tell about cartels and crime and violence.
But if fear was enough to stop her from living out her dreams, she wouldn't be a motorcyclist in the first place. Whether it's dealing with broken-down equipment in the wild west city of Durango, a passport debacle in Costa Rica, or a last minute flight to help a friend race the North West 200 in Ireland, people are far better than the media implies, and what she finds is a wonderful journey through new cultures, new environments, and newfound strength in both herself and her growing relationship with her travel partner.
Chronicles of a Motorcycle Gypsy: South of the Border is the second book in a series of memoirs. Originally published as a travelogue in Motorcyclist Magazine as Girl Meets World, this full-length memoir has been rewritten from the ground up to include the untold stories and the details that were a little too racy for the blog.
If you loved Ewan McGregor and Charlie Boorman's Long Way Round and Ted Simon's Jupiter's Travels, you'll love Chronicles of a Motorcycle Gypsy!

Another great adventure!!
I loved this one as much as Tiff's first book. Love her spirit and determination, it does inspire ya! She does a good job bridging not only the ride itself but also educating the reader/listener on all the local people and their customs and beliefs but also describing the beautiful and not so beautiful landscape along the way. I really do hope that she and Hollywood continue to tour and publish their riding adventures!! I'm 45yrs old and a fellow rider but have yet to undertake any long distance rides but books like these Fuel the Adventurer's Spirit like crazy...so much so that when I'm done going thru things on my own bike then I too hope to experience these fantastic wonders and beauty that a person will experience with Iife on 2 wheels!!👍🏻

Part 2 of a great motorcycle travel adventure
Tiffani's story is an interesting one. I definitely recommend reading book 1 first. I see the two books as telling 3 stories. Her first cross country trip. Her continued travels with her "friend" Hollywood. And then this book and her exploits as they travel down to and back from Panama. It's interesting how I love the story of the travel but started this book waiting to see if Hollywood was along for the ride. Clearly I was as invested in her travels as I was in her relationship. And its an interesting relationship. Anyway, great motorcycle travel stories through Mexico and Central America. I prefer the story be read by the author when the author is a decent reader. Tiffani does an excellent job of reading the story. It's a well told travel tale but also an interesting look at someone traveling while also seeing that they don't have a clue where life will go next. The epilogue is as important on this book as the rest of the story. And I was googling for Book 3 while listening to the epilogue. Unfortunately, I didn't find one. But I will say that I bought a copy of Taffy's Tales. Google it. Will be given to my daughter to read to her younger cousins. Hoping I can get them all thinking about motorcycle travel. And Costa Rica is the only central american country I've been to. And I loved it. So motorcycle travel in Costa Rica sounds like a great theme to get into their heads. Anyway, I loved Tiffani's sotry and her presentation of the story. Highly recommended.

sequels are tough
I enjoyed the original book with the focus on learning oneself by setting off for an unscripted adventure and dealing with what may come.
I was looking forward to reading book 2, South of the Border, but this is more the story of a relationship that happens to involve motorcycles.
Probably a good story if you like that kind of stuff but not for me.

She needs to work on her writing. Her story has the potential to be interesting but her writing skills are amateur. Her reading is even worse. Please have someone else read your books for audible. Your words are mumbled and run together without using any punctuation. The cocaine jokes with lack of delivery got old.

Another great read from Tiff!
Second book in what looks to be a series, can't wait for the third!
It's basically a continuation from the first book which I thoroughly enjoyed.
No frills, "telling you how it is" travel writing from a very relatable and down to earth person.
Unlike celebrities or people with knighthoods Tiff has had a similar upbringing to most people and you can tell that in the way she just writes it down.
If you have any interest in bikes, travel, bikes, outdoors, bikes, or bikes, then you will love her books.

Anna was never anything like those "real" runners on telly, but when she read about New Zealand’s 3,000-kilometer-long Te Araroa Trail, she began to wonder...perhaps being a "real" runner was overrated. Maybe she could just run it anyway? The Pants of Perspective is a witty, colorful, and at times painfully raw account of a journey to the edge of what a woman believes herself to be capable of. It is a coming-of-age story that will lead you on a roller-coaster ride through fear, vulnerability, courage, and failure.

She sold her successful outdoor adventure business, upsetting her partner and boyfriend of 12 years and getting them both fired in the process. The emotional waters that would fester and erupt on the ensuing journey were often more challenging to navigate than the mighty river itself. Story

Story
This 148-day journey began on Darcy Gaechter’s 35th birthday. She sold her successful outdoor adventure business, upsetting her partner and boyfriend of 12 years and getting them both fired in the process. The emotional waters that would fester and erupt on the ensuing journey were often more challenging to navigate than the mighty river itself. With blistering lips and irradiated fingernails, Darcy would tackle raging Class Five whitewater for 25 days straight, barely surviving a dynamite-filled canyon being prepared for a new hydroelectric plant.

He felt the fear that commitment always induced in him; he was hoping they might have edited that bit out. Commitments are something he tried to get as far away from as possible, the only other constants in his life being twenty-five years of financial prudence, travel and motorcycle obsession. So there he was, committed to going very, very far on a motorcycle with his meager prize money.
