In a city where loyalty is everything and blood stains more than just the streets, Sons of the Asphalt unearths the fragile line between legacy and rebellion.

Leonardo Roche was born into power, but he never wanted it. As the son of Levon Roche, a ruthless crime boss with a past full of ghosts, Leonardo struggles to define his own path. When he discovers his father has stolen the ashes of a nameless boy—a boy who never had a chance—Leonardo’s simmering defiance ignites into full-blown war.

Across town, Viper—a grizzled outlaw with a violent past—wants nothing more than to keep his stepson Vance out of the life. But when Levon resurfaces with leverage that cuts to the bone, Viper is forced into a brutal game where survival means sacrificing more than he’s willing to lose. At his side is Hudson, a loyal enforcer who begins to wonder if the price of allegiance is too high—especially when the kid they’re fighting for might already be lost to the darkness.

As old sins resurface and new blood is spilled, Leonardo and Viper find themselves barreling toward each other, both seeking justice in a world ruled by silence, scars, and secrets. With Levon pulling the strings, trust becomes a weapon, and every move could be their last.

Gritty, haunting, and pulsing with raw emotion, Sons of the Asphalt is a visceral portrait of fractured families, the cost of loyalty, and the war men wage to protect what little love remains in a world built on pain.

While exciting, the storyline was fraught with too many avenues to pursue in one book. Was this a motorcycle club book or a dysfunctional family book, with several families in need of social services intervention? Too much back and forth action.

Leonardo was a great father figure as a big brother to Viper, but perhaps Leonardo would have been better served by actually dealing with his father/Viper's stepfather, Levon.

As for Levon, he was just a bigmouth talker/bully.

The narrator made the hours it took to listen to this book bearable, especially since all the many characters were voiced with their own distinct personalities and quite a number of the names were too similar.

Nevertheless, it ended with a bang. Well done. So, if you like cliffhangers this series is for you.

Too many lanes to follow

The story was action packed, with tight writing and a fast-paced plotline. I appreciated that every action had consequences, although I was a little worried about some of the characters in the fight scenes and their decision-making. It seems as if the plot is set up for a third book. I'd be interested in reading the next story, even though I'm not sure which character it would follow. Also, the narrator nailed the twenty or so character voices, which meant that I never questioned who was speaking. It was easy on the ear. Overall, this book caught my attention and kept me intrigued the whole time.

Fast-Paced. Great Narration. Ready For Book 3!
