So, so good! A well deserved five star read! Absolutely had the time of my life listening to this beauty of a book. So enjoyable and lovable.

Reader beware

Any self respecting woman would’ve castrated Asher. I’m not into slut shaming but he was a man whore. The plot had promise but it circled back to the non romantic story line. When her maid shamed her into accepting his treatment I said that’s enough. I’m trying to make it thru but don’t know how much more I can take. I thought this was a fantasy not smut.

Great enemies to lovers period/royal story

I’m not usually a fan of the royalty/period novels, but this was a great story. You can’t really call them enemies because they were only kids at the time so more teasing than anything. But they soon find outthey are a force to be reckoned with when they’re together. Looking forward to listening to the next book

Good Story, the narration detracted...

While I enjoyed this story, the narration was a draw back for me. Personally I am not a fan of the "breathy" female voice. I would have left his ass...

Zoe and Asher have been betrothed since they were young. Every summer Zoe, a warrior princess, must trek to Asher's kingdom to spend a few months with him and his mother. Both Zoe and Asher would rather be any where else other than in each others company.

Asher is a self possessed womanizer, who thinks nothing of flaunting his affairs in front of Zoe.
Zoe, is a strong fighter and tom boy. She would rather be in the training field than cozying up to her betrothed.
The beginning of the book is a bit slow and there were many instances where I wanted to stop listening. Asher's true colors are exposed and all I could think is Zoe needs to leave his ass. Their kingdoms could still have an alliance without each of them sacrificing their futures.
Many of the more romantic and sex scenes seem forced, as in Asher literally attempts to force Zoe to do his bidding. This in itself is against her character and her acceptance of him is not believable.

Through it all, I did enjoy the book for what it is, an entertaining fantasy novel. I am intrigued by Asher's cousin, Ollie, and the next installment of the series which focuses on her.

Definitely falls into the romance category

This was a well written but overly romance driven story. I would have liked more action to offset the romance, but it wasn't so much that I couldn't get through the story. The narration was good and kept the story engaging enough to finish the book. If you like romance, you should definitely pick this one up.

Interesting story

This was a long and convoluted story with several plot twists. The love story was rocky but ended well. The only thing I disliked about the story was that in spite of the time spent and the details given it ended in a cliffhanger. There can always be more stories in a series without them ending in cliffhangers. That does not encourage me to read the next story because by the time it is written and ready to be listened to I have forgotten what the other was all about. There are too many books to go back and listen to one just to pick up the thread so the next book makes sense.

Well written with well developed charachters, betrayal, adventure, danger all wrapped up in suspense with a kickass princess heroine

Outstanding New Fantasy Series!

I was really worried for probably several chapters in! Honestly, the Prince was making me really mad with his horrible manners and behavior. Nobody wants a prince that is engaged to you but sleeping around when you come to see him. I wanted to smack him so bad at first! I truly despised him for awhile but don’t stop reading keep going because there is light at the end of the tunnel!

Narration was well done and brought the story to life.

This is a well written story. The characters are well developed and interesting. You will find suspense, danger, betrayal, loss, romance, friendship and adventure. It is a great fantasy story once the prince stops acting like an idiotic moron!

I really like the heroine. She is a princess warrior that can defend herself pretty well!Things wrapped up nicely towards the end of the book with no major cliffhangers. I’m looking forward to book 2!
