Publisher's summary

Jake is the best bomb dog at Newark International, the pride of the force and his partner, Becca Carter. But when he accidentally ferrets out an ancient artifact, their routine sniff-and-search goes horribly wrong.

His heart has always belonged to Becca, but Jake never realized what losing her would mean until the night he found the Egyptian jar and tasted the wine of Anubis. The night they were attacked by werewolves…in Newark.

Injured and hunted, Jake struggles to understand the strange cascade of events that follow the attack. The one certainty is that only he can protect Becca from the antiquities smuggler who would do anything to keep his secrets hidden. Plagued by violent dreams and hounded by werewolf assassins, Jake must find a way to help Becca solve the mystery of the jackal-headed god's elixir before she ends up dead...or worse.

Power packed story in a little package!

Intriguing & intense in places, with believable world & characters! Great narration! I could see this as a possible series starter.

A compelling story.

Reviewer: Teresa Fallen Angel

Summary:
Jake and Becca work together as one of the best Bomb sniffing teams. That is until the day Jake finds an old artifact that somehow called to him. The instinct to drink the substance that came out of the artifact was overwhelming and that action set in motion a series of events that could change their lives.

Jake began to be more self aware and physically change into something completely different. Becca is determined to who is smuggling the crate of ancient artifacts if she can stay ahead of who ever is trying to kill her. Jake is determined to use his new abilities to keep Becca, his partner and maybe more safe?

Will they uncover the mystery before it is too late>

This was a fast paced and intricate story. I for one hope that this isn’t the end of Jake and Becca’s story. The audible format brought the story alive in ways that can’t occur in a book format.

Really intriguing & original tale in Egyptian myth

Son Of Anubis by Stacy Bennett

This is a quick read, but really well done and I enjoyed it very much! Egyptian myth and werewolf mix, the story is definitely original. My only complaint is that it was too short, I wanted more!!

Fascinating and quick read

What happens when a TSA canine drinks from the cup of Anubis? This very quick, really too short, novella explores Jake’s story, as he begins transforming into a man and helps his handler, Becca, navigate an underworld of Egyptian artifact smugglers. The story moves very quickly, and there isn’t much fluff, so it gets down to business and tells the story pretty well. It almost seemed to get wrapped up a bit too quickly in the end, and I would have like to have seen the story more fleshed out as a longer book, but for what it is as a novella, it works well. Action packed with a hint of romance.

The narration is done really well. We get the internal monologue of Jake as a dog, and then his human counterpart POV, as well as Becca’s POV, and all are done very well and don’t distract or deter from the story at all.
