An exciting and riveting story

In my opinion, the narration of this book was better than the first book. The story had me intrigued, especially with the suspense of the stalker and the growing love story between Allison and Ian. The narrator provided adequate character distinction and the narration flowed smoothly. The sound quality was smooth and the silences between the chapters seemed shorter in this book. Even though the suspense was building in the story, the narrator maintained the same speed. A great listen for a long drive because you won't want to stop listening!

A fresh take on holiday romance

Having not hear the first book in this series I was a bit dubious about diving into Book 2 however it’s a stand-alone story with no need to have started at the beginning.

Combining romance with suspense in a little town called Heaven, narrator Rita Page reads a bit too slowly for my preference, but that’s nothing that can’t be fixed by speeding up the playback. Even so, her voice is ideally suited for a Holiday romance and she doesn’t skimp on the tension when it’s required. There’s some dark moments in Wilton’s text which keeps this seasonal romance interesting and the listener on their toes.

I found this story to be a refreshing and interesting take on the genre, coving themes of romance, domestic violence and differences in age.

Recommended listening.

Book two, just OK.

This book was a little too sappy for my taste. The author went too far on emotions, sex, thought process etc. She stretched this book out too long. This book was not half as good as her first book in the series.

Heaven has a bit of danger and adventure.

Following on the heals of "A Heavenly Christmas," this book tells the story of the waitress mentioned here and there, and shows us several wonderful glimpses of Nick and Jennie, and their two little girls. Switching the focus to Ally was awesome, and made it feel as though we're getting to know the whole town, instead of just one or two people.

Ally is in hiding from a psycho ex-boyfriend, which is a surprise to most people. While she finds comfort from her boss/friend Nick, and her new bff Jennie, she's still far more afraid than she's willing to let on. She is both grateful and reluctant to accept the new Sheriff's help, but needs to avoid a dangerous run-in with a man she knows could do her quite a bit of harm.

Ian is new to town, and a darn good Sheriff. Divorced and hoping for a fresh start in a little town, a developing case of a stalker ex-boyfriend of a local waitress is the last thing he expected. While he works to keep her safe, he finds himself increasingly drawn to the quirky amateur photographer, purple spiky hair and all. She's not his typical type, and he isn't hers - maybe that's exactly what they both need.

This book has a bit more heat than the first book, which I didn't enjoy all that much, hence the missing star. Beyond that, I loved the turn into danger and a little bit of darkness thrown into Heaven. The sweet town gets rocked a bit, and the way it threw Ian and Ally together was a far more adrenaline-fueled romance. The writing was just as good (I would assume), and the narration was done very well. The story flowed well, and the humor balanced the action perfectly.

I would definitely recommend this book to others, especially fans of holiday adventures. While you could enjoy this book on it's own, I would recommend starting with the prequel, as it will introduce the town in a different light, giving this story even more depth.

*I was given a complimentary audiobook copy of this book, from the author, to listen to in exchange for an honest review.

Sweet Romance and Suspense

I love the whole premise for this story! I love the added suspense and mystery of a creepy stalker on the loose! I didn't read the first book, which wasn't a problem for me, I could follow the story just fine. The previous couple from the first book was in this book, so you may want to read their story first, but it isn't necessary. I really enjoyed the majority of this story, and the romance was sweet and hot! I also love that the author continued the story longer than usual, but I do think a lot of that was filler, and the ending needed more to it. The resolution for the characters felt rushed in the end, when there was plenty of time to build up the connections. I really liked both main characters, and I loved the small town setting. I was getting fairly ticked at Ian at times because he makes some dopey decisions, but he's still a sweetheart. Oh! and I don't see how Allison could allow some stalker ex dictate her life so much, and how her parents would allow it as well! I feel like there could've been a better way for her to deal with her ex, but I get that she's very scared of the situation, so I suppose I understand a bit. I listened to the audio version of this story, and the narrator did a great job! I enjoyed the listening experience, and would recommend it! So yeah! Entertaining, interesting, sweet, sexy, and fun mystery! Really enjoyed it!

ABSOLUTELY HEAVENLY

SOMEONE TO LOVE is the second book in the Heavenly Christmas series. While it does stand on its own, there is enough reference to the first story that I believe you will prefer to have read it first.

Do you want to know what it feels like to be a woman on the run from a stalker? Ally has spent five years hiding in plain sight, but never able to really be herself or to pursue her dreams all because of “him.” Heaven, PA is as close to peace as she has found, but she is always on guard.

I loved this story. The age difference between Ally and Ian is about the same as the difference between my boyfriend and me, so I was cheering them on!

I wanted to hug both of them. They each have reason to put distance between themselves and the thought of romance – look how horrible it turned out the last time they each tried it – but together – sigh!!!! Ally is both strong and vulnerable. For that matter, so is Chief Ian. Their story is romantic, sweet, honorable, and heroic…. Oh, and there is another sweet dog, Speed.

Like the first book, I listened to this one on Audible and the voice actor, Rita Page, is just wonderful. She has a talent to bring all of the characters to life to the listener, each with their own personality and voice.

There is a third book in this series, CHRISTMAS WISH, and I hope it soon will be available in audio!

Note: while I was given this book as a gifted Audible copy, my opinions are my own and are given freely.

Suspense, romance and sensuality

I really enjoyed this second book in the Heavenly series; this one is the story of Allison Cornwall (Nick’s waitress from book 1) and Police Chief Ian Brown. It’s a thrilling tale of a crazy stalker, a girl in hiding and a man that’s determined to protect her. I loved how the author and narrator were able to get you emotionally involved with the characters; you feel their fear, attraction and apprehension and I loved the chemistry created between Allie and Ian. The narrator once again did an excellent job, she did both male and female voices well and drew you into the story creating tension and sensuality in all the right spots. It is a captivating story that has you holding your breath and sitting on the edge of your seat. If you like suspense, romance and a bit of heat, you will definitely love this story.

Suspenseful small-town romance

Someone to Love by Patrice Wilton is the second book in the Heavenly Christmas series. It can be read as a standalone and is Ally and Ian’s story. Ally is running from her past and asks Ian (chief of police) for help after a scary incident at her isolated cabin. The story is well-paced and suspenseful with a surprising twist near the end. If you like suspense and small-town romance, you will like this story brought to life by Rita Page’s narration.

Great Book!

Any additional comments?

This is a great book; this is the second book in the Heavenly Christmas series written by Patrice Wilton and narrated by Rita Page. She changed her name and hunkered down in Heaven, PA.The small, idyllic town was a safe haven where no one could find her. And yet, after a year and a half of peace, he did. Recently divorced, he's not looking for love, but this innocent young woman touches his heart.

This is a great book with a wonderful story and well developed characters. This book will keep you reading/listening long into the night and you will not want to put this book down until you finish. This was such a great read and full of surprises.

The narrator Rita Page did a wonderful job, and was very easy to listen too. She did a great job with the different characters and their voices.

If you are looking for a great book, then you need to read/listen to this book. I can’t wait to read the next book by this author. Once I started listening to this book, I didn’t want to stop until the end. I was voluntarily provided this review copy audiobook at no charge by the author, publisher and/or narrator.
