Best apocalyptic book I've heard in years of listening to audiobooks!!!

I've never listened to a book by Dean M. Cole before. My husband and I downloaded this audiobook to listen to while driving on vacation. The genre of the book was right up our alley and we have each listened to several audiobooks narrated by both R.C. Bray and my personal all time favorite female narrator, Julia Whelan.

We didn't finish the book on our trip but as soon as I got home I downloaded it to my audible account so I cld keep listening. Two days later my heart never stopped pounding and I had finished the book in record time. Lol

The story is written superbly by author Dean M. Cole and I am now a HUGE fan and will be looking for more of his titles.

The narration performance was outstanding. My husband is an audiobook narrator as well and I do a lot of editing for him before the final product hits the market. My ears have a bit a training, so to speak. Needless to say these set of ears very much enjoyed the performances by both narrators. Their talents are impeccable.

I love the way the book jumps right into the thick of things. I, as the listener trying to predict what might happen next from moment to moment, chapter to chapter. From normal life struggles to the end of the world impossibilities that blow your mind! Science Fiction meets Armageddon and the unrelenting human spirit to survive.

Having both a male and female narrators for this audiobook was a fantastic decision!

I will be eagerly seeking book ll and will recommend this book to everyone I know who listens to audiobooks. And that will be many!! Kudos!!

Loved this book!

Just finished listening Solitude. I got it on audible, It was so great!!! Loved the story, very original, loved the writing skills, brilliant writing! And of course loved the narration, what a perfect duo! Unbelievable! Thank you for a wonderful book! I got lost in it for a while there... Now I can't wait for the book 2!

Captivating, Enthralling, Compelling.

Who was your favorite character and why?

I cannot choose between Vaughn or Angela. They both are fascinating characters, well developed and both deeply capture you from the beginning of the book all the way through to the end.

What does R.C. Bray and Julia Whelan bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?

On their own, each narrator is amazing. Both are exremely well suited for narrating audiobooks, in fact I chose this book because of 1. the reviews and 2. R.C.Bray who has narrated many books that I love. However, Julia brings a strong and encapsulating read in both male and female voices. I would have listened to these two read the dictionary and been happy to listen all day.

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

It was and I did. From the moment I woke up through my work day and then at home when I was done. I couldn't listen in the shower.

Any additional comments?

I am eagerly anticipating book two of this series. I almost wish I hadn't read this until it was out, because now I have to wait too long for the rest of the story. Dean M. Cole has a rabid new fan. I'm going to grab his other series and start it right now!

Fantastic Listen!

I don't write review very often, but this was an exceptional listen. Enjoyed every minute of this gripping adventure. A unique story, worth putting in your cart!

Excellence

First...I love R C Bray. So, that is how I found the book. Superb story. Very interesting idea. Excellently written. I can't give it away...but, love the baby mice. Best part? The end. Why? Because I know another one is coming.

R.C. Bray is a fantastic narrator! This is my first experience listening to Julia Whelan but she did a great job.

This was a really fun story all in all, made even better by two very talented narrators.
