Publisher's summary

Cassie Wright, porn priestess, intends to cap her legendary career by breaking the world record for serial fornication. On camera. With 600 men. Snuff unfolds from the perspectives of Mr. 72, Mr. 137, and Mr. 600, who await their turn on camera in a very crowded green room. This wild, lethally funny, and thoroughly researched novel brings the huge yet underacknowledged presence of pornography in contemporary life into the realm of literary fiction at last. Who else but Chuck Palahniuk would dare do such a thing? Who else could do it so well, so unflinchingly, and with such an incendiary (you might say) climax?

Critic reviews

"Striking characters, sharp parody, and a tight plot....Highly recommended for mature [audiences]." ( Library Journal)
"McLaren's gritty voice adds the needed edge to this seedy but interesting novel." ( Publishers Weekly)

It is worth the read.

Chuck Palahniuk writes about a variety of topics. Each time he finds something new in the human condition. Talking about the Porn industry and those it attracts isn't an easy read. Yet Palanhniuk write a story about humanity in all its gory detail. This story has stayed with me for a while, which I didn't think would happen from such a short story.

Great intro into Chuck P's writing style

Loved this book! A little unexpected at times, but overall I dig authors that revel in the gory little details as much as the main set pieces.

The narrater was awesome too, though I did just get done listening to him read through the entire Emberverse series - complete other side of the spectrum, just worked out that way...

I'm a Todd McClaren fan though, a great choice for a heavily detailed books :)

What some would consider gross or over the top, I see as texture. No one walks through life staying as smooth as the day they're born... Chuck Palahniuk, seems to understand that better than most, the more you're alive the grittier life gets! To listen to a scene play out through that kind of lens is well worth the effort of hitting play, books like this make me want for the will power to just sit down and read them direct, but until I find that time, Audible is the next best option. Now I'm off to listen to another of his works :)

Classic Chuck

I always love anything written by Chuck Palahniuk, and this book was no different. As usual I was left with that dark, uncomfortable feeling in my stomach (which I love). He's done it again.

Keep browsing

Somewhat predictable, repetitive - not palahniuk's best work. I didnt hate it though, and it was a fast read.

not worth the money

What was your reaction to the ending? (No spoilers please!)

This story had way to many unanswered questions

Any additional comments?

This book wasn't bad, but for the money I found it very short and full of plot holes and unanswered questions. I wouldn't spend the money on audiobook again.

It’s classic Palahniuk at his demented & raunchy best!

Like most reads from the master of “Sick & Wrong”, a genre all of it’s own just for the likes of Chuck Palahniuk, “Snuff” does indeed SNUFF OUT THE all the little and BIG boundaries with politically correct insinuated lines meant to say: “to far” “inhuman” “taboo” “BAN THIS BOOK”, etcetera- because it is absolutely sick and wrong; just twisted! It is in large part for these reasons that I thoroughly enjoyed this disturbing while often very hilarious Novella. Chuck Palahniuk is not for everyone to be sure! His stories are often weaved with over the top most graphic violence like brutal dismemberment and very detailed sexually explicit scenes not to mention the language. It’s mature and genuinely genius “Splatter-Punk” “Commentary” “Social Studies” for those of us with “Sick & Wrong” reading prowesses.

Great time killer

Struggled to finish it tho. I'm not giving up yet. I'll find another great book by Palahniuk.

Interesting but not my favorite palahniuk book

This was an interesting book but I don't feel like it's palahniuks best work. I enjoyed choke more than this and I feel as if it was sort of "rushed".
