Publisher's summary

Smarter is a near future sci-fi/thriller whose young heroine, Ell Donsaii, we learned in Quicker, has a nerve mutation that makes her an athletic phenomenon, so fast that no one can keep up with her. Like Stieg Larsson's Lisbeth Salander (The Girl With the Dragon Tattoo), Ell is a mathematical genius who, while trying to drift off to sleep, instead of counting sheep, has developed a new theory of quantum mechanics. At once shy and concerned about her social skills, yet loved by those around her, she goes to grad school to try to understand experimental physics. In the process she discovers a means for enormously improving communications using quantum entangled molecules. Her brilliant quantum theories make her the target of industrial spies, other countries, and jealous physicists all at the same time. Those who attack her don't consider that the very skills they envy and desire make her nearly impossible to overcome.

Pretty good

Not a bad follow up to the first book. The narrator was okay, the accents pretty bad. This one could have used more action like first one. If you read this series try and figure out how many times ELL gets kidnapped.

Enjoy the story, but

I enjoy stories about young women who are able to kick butt, without getting hurt themselves! Also with some kind of abilities that make them special!

This story and the previous fit this profile, however, I don't like it when the main character is self-effacing and refuses to take out an enemy even when they are getting ready to kill her or companions!

Also, I don't like it when the author starts to make the book into a romance novel! Consequently I took away one star!

Dahners knocks it out of the park.

This is book is just one of the great stories in the Donsaii series. I will be purchasing each of these as they come out in audio format. I love the way Dahners thoroughly explores the what if scenarios that he conjectures in each story. His stories entice me to learn more about that aspect of science.

One of my favorite serries

I was very happy to see the second book in the serries available on Audible. I can't wait for the rest. A bonus was that the narrator did a great job too.

glad the audio side is starting again. although..

I would suggest creating and refining audio files for each character and referencing each before narrating there parts every time.

Narrator is a hot mess

The narrator inappropriately threw all kinds of accents in here. One minute Ell would sound like a European, then a New Yorker, then a Bostononian. It didn’t kill the story or make it a reason not to listen to this, but it’s just odd when she digresses into an accent that has no place in the story.

This was a good follow-up to the first one, with a lot of entertainment and some interesting stories; it was a bit more juvenile than I’d have preferred at times, but still enjoyable.

I love the Ell Donsaii books

I can't figure out how to describe the series. They are very much SCIENCE fiction but the are not too serious. They are light hearted and fun.
