Publisher's summary

This is a full-cast, unabridged performance with comprehensive commentary and analysis, enabling any student to fully understand and appreciate the play. Judge for yourself whether Lear is "a man more sinned against than sinning" in this moral tale that pits wisdom and age against ambition and youth. Shakespeare will now make sense.

Any additional comments?

The commentary allows the reader to not only understand Shakespeare's message but also gives background into Shakespeare's life and the original story that king Lear was based upon. The narrator is the same in all smartpass audio productions of Shakespeare and I appreciate the consistency.

very entertaining and smart educational audiobook

I felt like the speaker took me and her student by the hand and together we deöved into the story of King Lear. The play is presented in manageable pieces and outdated words or unfamiliar conventions explained on the spot. it was fun and educating and the audiobook even encourages the listener to think critically.
