SHANE MILLER SLEEP DIARY:

Went to bed at: Late.

How long it took to fall asleep: Forever. I have insomnia. Duh.

Number of caffeinated beverages you had consumed: Zero. Thanks for advising me to quit!

My stress level is off the charts.

I can’t sleep right on a normal day, and lately my days are filled with the best kind of chaos.

My ex-wife and husband number two are filming in Poland for three months, so I’m turning down movie parts to focus on the most important role of my life—impossibly charming and somewhat capable young single dad.

My son won't stop asking questions.

My daughter won't brush her teeth unless I sing her showtunes.

Our regular nanny quit. The only person I could trust to hire as a temp nanny is my best friend’s sister.

If Mary Poppins and Bill Murray had a baby it would be Willa. Fresh out of grad school and beautifully weird. She hates my movies, and my kids adore her.

I couldn’t sleep last night because she wasn’t here. Turns out I can’t sleep unless she’s in my house now. Turns out she’s what’s been missing from my life all along.

If my friend had any idea what I want to do to his gorgeous troublemaker of a sister, he would smother me with a pillow. The chances of us succeeding as a couple are about as good as that little indie movie that I made being a huge hit. But it’s a chance I’m going to take.

This is my third Kayley Loring book to listen to recently. It was a mixture of two of my favorite tropes... brother's best friend/best friend's sister and nanny. But the story was my least favorite of hers so far. I would have given 3 stars for the story, mostly because the daughter drove me crazy. A bratty five year old is not amusing and no backbone in adults regarding a bratty five year old's misbehavior is even less amusing. Those parts kinda ruined it for me.

But I loved the relationship between Shane and his ex-wife. It's not the usual circumstance for ex's. And Nico's response to his sister and best friend getting together is golden! Willa and Shane's story was sweet, dream like. I loved the fun, lighter romance without a bunch of anguish. There were heartwarming moments with a few heartbreaking ones as well. It was perfect.

Teddy Hamilton and Mackenzie Cartwright were excellent narrators. They are two of my favorites. Great performances!

I actually enjoyed this audio quite a bit and I think it brought more to the story.

Shane is a Hollywood star and Willa is his best friend’s little sister. He’s an insomniac and she’s a perfumer. He needs a nanny for his twins and she was one when she was in school. Coincidence?

I enjoyed their banter and flirtation. I really liked the info about perfumes, since it’s a little hobby of mine. I think the biggest issues I had with this book was sometimes it was either a bit childish or predictable.

This also means I inhaled this audio. Teddy Hamilton and Mackenzie Cartwright did a super fine job as the characters. And with kids to narrate, that was totally fun.

Added bonus, a twist of fate near the end which made the picture perfect HEA tolerable.

Enjoyable and sexy, but sometimes a bit childish.

Teenage star crush and now nanny to the same star years later, yes please. Enjoyed this cute rom-com listen.

What a fun listen!

This is a nice listen! I enjoyed a lot of different things about it. Willa’s job or aspiring job is so different from what I have read before. Her mention of different layers of scents was wonderful as was her love of smells and essential oils. Shane just seems off. For a big star he sure didn’t get recognized much. I loved his daily sleep journal writings. The best thing about him are his two adorable children. I loved their antics and how involved in the story they were. The last thing is the connection between Willa and Shane...that first kiss was sexy as heck!

I did listen to this on audio and Teddy and Mackenzie did a super job. I could listen to Teddy read the newspaper ;).

Many things to love about this one!

I really loved this story. It was the perfect escape for me today. So much so that once I started listening, I couldn't stop! This book had it all - best friend's little sister, famous guy falls for normal girl, girl gets with childhood crush, and single dad falls for the nanny. There really is a lot to this story, but I really liked how it all mixed in to make the perfect story.

Shane and Willa were so much fun. I really liked both of them. They were low drama, even in stressful situations, and I never questioned whether or not they should be together. Willa was so much fun, and fit perfectly with both Shane and his kids. She was quirky, sweet, and funny. Shane was definitely the hot Hollywood actor, but he was also such a good dad, and so good for Willa. Together, they were on fire. Seriously, their chemistry was more than a little explosive.

And the narration was fantastic! Both narrators truly became these characters and brought this story to life! They brought all the emotions for these characters, and they were incredible to listen to. From the tone to the pacing, I loved this whole book!
