Publisher's summary

A brand new novella in the New York Times best-selling series featuring vampires in the Windy City.

Merit, the Sentinel of Chicago's Cadogan House, is pregnant. She's ready to meet her daughter but also excited to see her feet again. While out on an evening walk, Merit stops to help a man in need, only to find herself the victim of a kidnapping attempt. Someone with a serious debt to some very serious people thinks Cadogan House will pay a rich reward for Merit's return.

Jonah, the handsome captain of Grey House's guards, is on his way to a meeting at Cadogan - and if he's honest with himself, to drop in on Cadogan's gorgeous and brilliant chef, Margot - when he stumbles on the aftermath of the attack. He'll stop at nothing to help the Cadogan vampires, including Margot, face down the threat.

Contains mature themes.

Fantastic Series

Very entertaining, kept my interest, fast paced. Tho a novella, the story still packed a punch. This author is one that I never miss a book in this series, also wonderful narration.

Sad about the Vamp’s

I enjoyed every single book I read it made me laugh it made me cry it made me sad it made me happy I hated for it to come to an end even though I know the story continues with the daughter but I will miss all the constant drama and trouble that Ethan and Merritt got into. That all good things must come to an end can definitely be said about this Series , I absolutely loved it.

Slaying It

I understand now why this had to go after the last book we get to see Merit pregnant which is all kinds of great.
I love how attentive Ethan was to her. What a special gift they were given.
The first ever vampire baby oh man she is going to set their world blazing.

I am so very glad Jonah and Margot get together too and not only that but that Margot get closure from her past it was really weighting her down.

PS I love the cover for this book.

Great series

This series has everything. Action, love story, kick ass female characters and the person telling the story is animated. She has a different tone for each character which helps you keep up with the story.

Time jump 😢

I know we go from the birth of the baby straight into her adult story. Why the time jump? I would have loved to see how the parents and the house handled having a baby. It’s kind of sad to me. So many lost stories that could have been told.

Once more with meaning.

Chloe Neill does it again. We knew Merit's pregnancy was not going to be simple. As she manages to defy a possible kidnapping. With the help of her friends they try to find the perpetrator. Sophie Eastlake does another awesome job of narrating. We welcome Baby Elissa ⚘⚘⚘

Excellent telling of the birth of the first naturally born vampire baby.

Merit runs into a rogue vampire set on kidnapping her and her unborn child. He wants to ransom them back to Ethan and Cadogan House to pay his debts to the mob.
