About the Book:

Skullduggery Nightmares

When Renata walks into the school, she gets a strange feeling. It's a sensation she's never felt before, but she dismisses it because she's too excited for her first day. Her face is adorned with a constant smile, and despite the students' denials of her politeness, she continues to walk around with a smile on her face. She goes to the girl's restroom after Math class to wash her face, and as she splashes water against her skin, the light in the background begins to flicker.

Renata comes to a halt for a moment, noticing the light flickering in the background through the mirror. The light abruptly goes out and then comes back on in a nanosecond. She does, however, hear a loud screeching sound coming from one of the restrooms. She initially decides not to continue her exploration, but as the screech grows louder, she is unable to resist. Renata opens the restroom door to find nothing and no one.
