More then pleasant it's Skulduggery Pleasant

Wow, WOW where to even begin how great and fun and exciting and......... well let's just start with

Story:
She’s twelve. He’s dead. But together they’re going to save the world. Hopefully.
Stephanie's uncle Gordon is a writer of horror fiction. But when he dies and leaves her his estate, Stephanie learns that while he may have written horror it certainly wasn't fiction. Pursued by evil forces, Stephanie finds help from an unusual source – the wisecracking skeleton of a dead sorcerer…
Frankly this summary doesn't even prepare you with 1/4 of the stuff your going to go through with these two main characters including a hidden "base" for the sorcerer's worlds, some fascinating creatures that can kill you in some underground caverns and a walking talking skeleton that can use magic as well as uses a pistol to name a few.

Characters:
Stephanie- I always keep forget she is a twelve year old girl meaning no back flips anything fancy like that, but she is not at all useless in fact she helps Skulduggery think out in the little things of the problem as well as did bits of information that is quite helpful. Not to mention she is kind of adorable at times and even when people tell her she should just walk away live out your life I have to agree with her on what she says "I really can't forget any of this now can I?" She's right I don't know about you, but I know I won't forget a talking skeleton that can also do magic (saving that one in the valet).

Skulduggery Pleasant- Now I ALWAYS keep forget that he is a skeleton so that means no facial expressions which he makes up for with wit and charisma in a monotone manner and it is so hilarious that I had to rewind the audiobook just so I didn't miss anything. I love this guy so much I almost with he was my uncle. He may seem like he doesn't care, but it is greatly the opposite you can actually tell by the way his mood and voice changes as well as give of a vibe of what he's feeling. Before you know you it you start getting him...... you get it?

Location:
Well I'm afraid I'm not good at describing the places that they visit, but I was say their in London (I think) and it turns out those places that have graffiti, some trash in the streets and rundown buildings that look awful yeah great place to put a secret meeting location for sorcerers as well as the sorcerer's elders go figure. The description of London in this is pretty good and why the sorcerer's did what they did to some of the location they stay in.

Conclusion:
Not going to lie this review is just the tip of the iceberg of all of this whole thing and you know what's really crazy, I mean besides the talking magic using skeleton? Is that this is a mystery book and I hate mystery books, but this is quite different. Here is the recipe: Adventure, with a hint of Fantasy, a splash of Magic, a dash of humor and a pinch of mystery and thriller. Wall-a you got your self a apple pie of an exciting, edge of your seat book. Also book two cannot wait to get started.

In all honesty I really do recommend it for not the book at least the audiobook that Rupert Degas can read the phone book and make sound hilariously enjoyable. If you don't like it then you can hang up your coat and hat by the broken door and read something else. If you do then load up your pistol and warm up your snapping fingers cause it's going to be quite a Pleasant time.

Engaging story with a young, strong heroine.

I thoroughly enjoyed this book. The narrator was masterful, he could really amp up the excitement with pacing and voices. I liked relationship between the two lead characters and enjoyed the headstrong adventuresness if the 12 year old girl. it's not my typical listen but I hope there are more. they are an entertaining duo in the magical world right alongside our human realm.

enjoyable

I must say that I enjoyed the music at the beginning and end of the chapters it did this perfectly, some other audiobooks I've heard have done the same thing but cut off dialogue into the chapters or the music is louder then expected and hurts the ear.

The characters were fun and the laws of magic in this book were interesting.

Entertaining

I was pleasantly surprised by this book, I just wish there wasn't a 30+ second intermission between each chapter where I was forced to listen to the same weird sounds effects and "spooky" music.

Great children's novel.

I liked this but didn't loved it. The narrator was great and the story was pretty good, however I couldn't get into the characters until almost the end.
