Publisher's summary

The first book in a laugh-out-loud new contemporary romance series from Alison Bliss!

It's not easy to watch your weight when you're starting your own bakery. And since Leah Martin is still reeling after her ex dumped her, an éclair fresh from the oven makes the night seem less lonely.

When Sam meets Leah in a bar one night, he's tongue-tied and leaves her with the mistaken impression that he's not interested because she's not thin enough. But when he finds himself helping Leah deliver a wedding cake to her ex-boyfriend's wedding, he comes to her rescue after a pushy woman insults Leah about her dating prospects and her weight - by proclaiming he's her fiancé. Leah is furious. Because that pushy woman is her mom, and now her family can't wait for the wedding.

So Sam and Leah make a deal: Leah will bake his favorites, and he will make her parents hate him. Then the wedding will be off. But as Sam starts to fall for Leah and Leah for Sam, they begin to realize that this fake love affair might just be the real thing.

3 Size Matters Stars

Warning swearing/cleaned up for Audible a head:

First I am a CURVY girl so I thought yes a book I can relate too.

UMM NOO not at all. Leah is so up in her own dang head she doesn't see herself. She makes jokes about her size, ok now that I understand I do that too, because as a curvy girl it’s expected.
But let’s be real here, she wouldn't have such problem if it wasn't for her F # - k UP SELF-RIGHTOUS mother.

WHO lets there WIFE, the MOTHER of your children talk to them like that?
AND JUST SITS BACK AND DOES NOTHING!!!!!!!
Thank Goodness for Sam, because he is the only one with a freaking brain in his head and stood up to the SHREWED COW!

Sam saved this book for me, not because he was this outstanding guy but because he got Leah to think of herself better.
It wasn't his magic c0 ck or his wit. It was not letting others bully her. I think that above all else is what Leah needed to stand up to her dang mother.

H311 she should have screamed at her father too for ALLOWING that to go on in his house, IN FRONT OF HIM!

Yes I am a little hot under the collar about this one because come on. This author has a wonderful opportunity to bring curvy girls in to romance, but no she went with the generic self-loathing, bullying sh1 t.

WHY can’t we have a curvy girl who owns her sh1 t and finds a man who loves her for HER. Ok Sam did like her how she was I will give you that. But all the self-doubt and put downs. I could have done without all that.

Great narration by the way, very much enjoyed that.

Not a terrible book I enjoyed big chucks of it but hated others as you can see.

*You don't have to like my review but its 100% my opinion, and I am allowed to have it.*

Just cringe after cringe

The premise of this had so much promise, but for me fell flat. As a curvy girl, I hoped for a better mindset for the main character but had to settle for characters so self-indulgent/self-pitying and prideful that they can never just finish a talk and therefore the unnecessary tension drags the book out 3x as long as it was necessary. Violet Strong did a great narration job, I just found myself constantly white-knuckled with the ways the characters were acting.

too sexually explicit and too many f-bombs

I started off listening to this author in out of the blue. I thought the book was hilarious and so realistic I really love the story. because that was book five of this series I thought okay I'll try book one and the story seemed interesting but as it continued on and on it was too sexually explicit for me, and all the cursing in it just kind of turned me off. I'll be returning the book not happy

Super cute!

This is a super cute story about a curvaceous lady who is placed in a fake-fiancé situation by a hunky guy. The story was detailed and I got a good sense of what he characters were thinking and feeling. There was a lot of miscommunication it misunderstanding between the two main characters which felt a little drawn out but made for lots of *feels.* I did hope for an epilogue to see into the future a bit but hope to see these characters in a backstory of the next book in the series.

Great narration, however, the characters did seem to go from less country twang to more twang in the middle of the story to less towards the end. Other than that it was good.

I adored this book.

The story was amazing. I struggled with the reader at first. By chapter 3 I was hooked. She really brought the characters to life. Alison Bliss is my new favorite author.

I liked it, but I didn't love it.

I liked the storyline. However I think I may have liked this better if I would have read this book instead of the listening to it. The narrator did an awesome job, and there were times where I was chuckling in my car in some moments, but there were some parts that were lack luster or sounded blah to me. I will read the authors next installment in the series. I'm curious on what this author has to offer with her storyline.
