Publisher's summary

As the daughter of a duke, Lady Josephine has a long list of responsibilities, and an even longer list of things she must never do to dishonor the family name. Josephine knows exactly which side becoming an author falls upon, but she's determined to try her hand at it anyway. For months she has worked on her novel in secret, writing chapter after chapter of intrigue and romance. Unfortunately for Josephine, her sworn enemy stumbles upon her secret.

Sir Andrew Wycomb's close relationship to the Duke of Montfort's family and heir gives him more than one advantage in life. His loyalty to the family is absolute, even if he finds at least one of its members an annoyance. He and Lady Josephine have never seen eye to eye. But when he discovers that she's written a novel upon a subject she knows nothing about, he cannot help but sympathize with her dream. This creates an unlikely ceasefire between them.

But things at the castle are always changing, and when a determined suitor arrives to court Josephine, Andrew has to decide which secrets he's going to keep. Especially when he discovers the one he's kept even from himself—that perhaps he doesn't find Josephine an annoyance at all. In fact, she is quite charming. The more time they spend together, the more he hopes she will realize they aren't enemies, and they could be so much more....

Excellent Narration

I read this book about 18 months ago and just finally gave the audiobook a listen. I really enjoyed the narrator and all her wonderful voices and characterizations. It felt like I was hearing the story for the first time.

I love all of Sally's books and her Clarivior series is particularly witty and sweet. I appreciate how the heroine came across as strong-willed and determined rather than petulant and young as she could have in an audiobook. I will be listening to the others in the future!

Charming with lots of Humor

I love this continuing story of the Clairvoir Castle Romances. This series is just fun and uplifting with charming romances interspersed within and around a ducal family in regency England. Josephine and Andrew are both delightful with a humorous and intriguing friends to lovers story told in the most Delightful way. I love that we continue to have little updates on previous characters from the stories as we continue through the series. I was delighted to read at the end of this book that four of the characters mentioned in the story will be in upcoming stories by Sally Britton. Exactly what I was wishing for. In listening to the audible version of this book, it was a nearly perfectly narration.

Sweet regency romance

Sir Andrew and the Authoress by Sally Britton is a quick, sweet regency read, perfect for fans of Britton’s other novels. Sir Andrew and Lady Josephine have grown up together thanks to Andrew’s friendship with Josephine’s brother. Because of this, the two regularly clash, with Andrew intentionally teasing Josephine to get a rise out of her. I loved this dynamic between the two characters. It was humorous, without going too far. The past relationship between Andrew and Josephine paves the way for them to move from enemies, of a sort, to something more. I found their story cute, though I did feel like the conflict in the story needed a little more development. I also would have loved a bit more about Josephine’s author journey. Yet, I still enjoyed the story and thought the narrator was the perfect choice for bringing the audiobook to life.

*Thank you to Sally Britton for an audiobook copy of this book. All opinions are my own.

Delightful Romance

Sally Britton never disappoints with her sweet love stories. This was a great story in the Clairvoir Castle series. Sally does a wonderful job of connecting the characters across the series. I can always count on a beautiful, well researched & written story with Sally’s books. I love and very much appreciate the sweet romances that are satisfying to read without being vulgar. Looking forward to the release of the next book in the series!

Lovely narration for a beautiful story

My favorite thing in books is dialogue and this one had such great dialogue.

Andrew and Josie have been debating each other for years. Andrew is best friends with Josie’s older brother and is treated as a son by their parents. He’s always around and always ready to spar with her. I loved their banter.

When Andrew discovers her secret room and her secret hobby of writing, they grow closer. Then when Josie’s brother invites a suitor to their castle for Josie, Andrew’s jealousy spurs him into action.

I loved the energy of the couple. I loved the gentle escape from the world in this sweet and slow romance. This series has been different from Sally’s other books, and while I’ve loved them all, I appreciate these slow sweet romances without too much conflict. As always, Sally delivered on some history too, incorporating some interesting political problems of the time.

Loved this one. Now to go back and re-read my favorite banter scenes. I love these two together! I’ve now read and listened to this book and the narration was beautifully done. The voice was appropriate for the age and didn’t take away from the enjoyment of the story.

great story, great narration

I read this book earlier this year and decided to listen to it as well. I really enjoyed the narration. I thought it was a good performance and that the characters were portrayed well. My only complaint was that there were a few spots where the transition from male to female point of view wasn't immediately apparent.

Excellent!

Sally Britton is a fantastic writer! Her stories pull you in from the first chapter and keep your attention through the last word. I adored this enemies to lovers sweet regency romance. Andrew and Josephine are written in such a way that you just can’t help but want to be in the story prodding them along. Josephine grandmother is my favorite in this story.
